Unless your oring had a huge cut in it or the cylinder wall galley there is nothing more to that part.

Lift the implement. Twist the lockout knob closed. Cut off tractor. If the implement stays up the cylinder piston and oring are perfect. If it slow leaked down O ring is probably worn but it will still work. If it drops like a sack of rocks you have problems in there.

I should have added twisting the lock out valve closed all the way takes the valve out of the equation. It locks fluid into the piston past the valve. So even with a suspect valve it would stay up with that knob closed.

Okay, so that confirms the main piston behind the lockout knob/valve is good then if the implement stays up, with it locked out.

Makes me curious as to what is wrong internally inside my 3 point control valve.

How tight is that internal fit in the valve? It's a machine fit and is very tight tollerence. Yours isn't sloppy is it? Knick internally from some prior ham fisted owner? It is turned around in the right direction? I don't think it would work other wise?

If you disconnect the lever from it you should be able to push that chrome button by hand or a tool for leverage and get it to raise or lower ruling out some misadjusted linkage or whatnot. The more you push it in the higher implement should go.

Thought I would post a pic. Shows where the circlip busted out the Groove on the chrome button, and a random piece of circlip that fell out this time when I pulled it apart again. It had to come out of that center piston part , what retains that inner button in there. That's the only place I remember a split ring snap type ring. There is that internal shaft, a ball bearing...from what I remember and a tiny O ring in there. I do know it will go togeather back words and either works erratic or not at all, been there don't that.

Now let's see if the pic will load from my phone. Can't see a way to put a pic in from the phone...yall will have to wait till the morning when I am at the computer for the pic.

yeah, I wish there were an easier way to add pics like there is when sending a text with added pics

Ok, sorry i didn't come into the office first thing, i went out to the field and then came in at the end of the day, but as promised here is a picture of the valve, the insides (minus, what i will call the internal piston in the center being disassembled) and you can see the broken pieces. 20181016_212415.jpg

Well mine looks just like yours, only not broken physically to the eye.
The figment of that piston inside of the bore on mine is extremely tight. If you may recall after I got it running again, the 3pt valve was stuck solid. I had to press the piston out of the note in that housing.

I was able to get it to slide back in and move again freely, and then re-assembled. Only now there is obviously the problem of an unusable 3pt due to how it acts.

I did raise the 3pt up with the box blade on it, and set the lock out valve. I left it for 24hrs and there was not even a smidge of release. However as soon as I unscrewed the lock out the box blade immediately fell to the ground.

Sounds like the valve is suspect. It is a machined fit that center portion to the valve bore. Close tolerance fit.

And it will not stay up with the service lockout open and tractor running? Most of ours dropped with tractor off, not like other tractors you see them stop with implement in the air and it stays forever.

Tractor running, service lockout open, the only way it will stay up with the box blade on the back is to have the 3pt control handle pulled all the way back. This causes issue of course because it is hitting the pressure relief the entire time. Since adding the loader, when this happens, it also makes the loadervalve leak around the joystick control ports, and fills up the boot.

Once I take the box blade off, and tractor running, the 3pt will stay up for a little bit on its own, but only if I close the speed lever under the seat ALL the way. This obviously just slows the process of it going down, but it takes a while.
