Here some more pictures of my thumb. It have built it to see if it would work.
I agree that it is not built strong enough, the welds are starting to crack.
By now I have moved more than 30000 lb concrete, cement blocs and I have used it for logs and other things.
As you can see there is not much room for the bolts between the bracket and the cilinder. I do not want to weld on the boom and I want the thumb to break before some part of the excavator does.
Picture #5 shows what you can do after a lot of practice :laughing:
