for that price and since your looking at jd id look at the 6105d cab 4x4 and see if that would better fit your needs.

Just curious what was the Kubota's priced at. Been giving some thought to the 9960 only w/o cab.

Thanks for the suggestion big bull. I Looked at a 6105D sitting right next to a 5083E. Much larger and heavier than the 5 series. Might just price one to see how much more it is.

I have only priced the cab model which is around $54,000 with FEL and 12 speed tranny. I will be getting more pricing on the 8560 and 9960 this week.

There's another thread going on this subforum about some upcoming changes to the JD 5m lineup for the 2015 model year. The OP in that thread speculated that perhaps the dealers would be making deals on the current models to clear out existing inventory.

This change is going to come with some price increases, so typically companies would not throw money at the older models and exaggerate the savings. What we've seen is money thrown at the newer models so those dealers without older stock can still be somewhat competitive.

I received prices this week from Barlows. The 8560HDC-12 is $49,800 with FEL, cast rears, 3rd function, 3 rear remotes, 540E PTO, air ride seat, fluid in rears. The 9960HDC-12 is $52,900. The 24 speed tranny option is $2,200 on the 9960. I have noticed on the Kubota cab 60 series that the exhaust has been moved forward obstructing the view somewhat. It is noticeable to me since I have looked at JD and they offer a corner post option for about $800 on the 5085 / 5100 E and M series.

For the money difference I think the Kubota. Unless you need the extra weight the John Deere is going to have. When I seen your prices my thought was "that's a new batwing in difference." But you must choose which one you like the best and what is and isn't worth 15k.

Go play with them both on the same day.
