Tier 4 Owners How Often For Regen?

Only had smoke during the Regen which I think is normal

My NX6010 would regenerate every 8-12 hours because it wouldn't warm up in our cooler temperatures doing loader work, and so it was running on the richer warm-up fuel map that would plug the diesel particulate filter (DPF) faster than the typical 50 hour regeneration bill of goods what was described by the dealer.

Other OEMs have had problems with tier IVb engine application using DPFs in northern climates. The field solution other OEMs have done to alleviate overly frequent DPF regeneration (if they've acknowledged the problem and done anything) is to change to a thermostat that opens at a little warmer temperature and is fully open at the same as stock temperature.

Mine regenerated at 17 and 57 hours. A little smoke during regen and when below 20 degrees working it hard. Check engine light indicates a problem and should be corrected asap before causing other problems.
Verify fluid levels and quality of diesel fuel- get a fresh 5 gal. of fuel from another source perhaps.

I have the same issue, I blocked my radiator with a big piece of cardboard and it allows me to come up to temp. I get some black smoke if I operate under heavy load before she is warmed up, for exactly the reasons you list.

I have had one auto regen run itself so far in 50 hours, and I attribute it to running cold all fall before the radiator block-off. I have also had the check-engine light come on once or twice, but turns off if I shut the tractor off and on again. If it keeps happening i'll have the dealer come take a look.

For you Kioti tier 4 owners ...... How often does your tractor go into regen? Especially the CK 35/4010 owners. At 29 hrs my went into regen but prior to that my service engine light came on and then wouldn't go into regen when the tractor called for it. Dealer picked it up and it fixed it. I'm at 54 hr and the service engine light is coming back on...... Wondering if it's about to go into regen soon...... Wondering if Its gonna repeat what it did the first time.

Mine is doing the same thing...Did you ever get yours straightened out? I'm on my way to the dealer for the 3rd round with the CEL. I have just over 103 hrs. and the engine usually bogs down and sometimes smokes before throwing the CEL. Otherwise, the thing runs fine. It has done 2-3 full regens already (just did one). I think all they did was clean some sensor and update the software. I don't think that's cutting it.

Any others having this issue?

Haven't had any problems with that, just had an auto regen run, i am nearing 120 hrs. No problems in that department, however the HST likes to drive itself in cold weather. Hopefully my dealer won't be stuck with an HST replacement..

I've had one regen on my NX4510 when it had about 35 hours on it. I now have 88 and haven't had it come on again
since the first time.

My ck3510 had first regen at around 35 hours and then again at around 75, but the cel came on and I called the dealer and came picked it up. After checking it out he said the egr valve was plugged cleaned it and brought it back and before he could leave it came on again,so back on the trailer and back to shop. He had it for a week trying figure out the problem and finally called Kioti and they sent a tech with new thermostat and they by passed water cooled egr and so far no problem.

That is what they are going to do on mine as it is in the shop now for the third time for this exact issue. Hopefully, it fixes it for good! Please post here if it happens again.

Do you live in the Northwest part of the USA by chance?
