Well, I took the plunge.. sold my Featherweight .270 and got the Tikka in .308. I kind of hated to see the Winchester go, but I doubt it'd ever get used. Most of my shots are going to be under 200 yards, a lot might be 50 yards in heavy woods, so the difference in ballistics really doesn't amount to anything.
First impressions are good, the synthetic stock feels better than I expected and the rifle with scope mounted points like a dream. Even my wife commented on how easy it was to find the scope compared to the old gun.
I got it bore sighted, haven't been to the range yet but I'm looking forward to firing it.
