What's folks' tillage regimens on two-wheeled tractors? I'm looking at setting up an intensive vegetable operation (3-5 acres) and I'm trying to figure out if I can get by with something like a grillo G131.

With a full-size, I would probably do this in the beginning of the season:
Moldboard (for sod)
Tandem Discs, drag harrow
Mini-chisels
Larchmont-style bed former for beds.

Mid-season, I'd probably just rototill, which I prefer not to do.

Are the discs that Earth Tools sells serious enough to till and incorporate trash, or are they really just harrows? Anyone have them?
Would you trust a rototiller on grillo or BCS to take on trash after a moldboard pass on a cover crop, or would it just get all tangled up?
What do you all do?

Hi! I use moldboard first 6 in. deep .Later I just till about 2 In. Rototiller make a very good job for seed bed. I think the best. Good Luck! Oldmech

I use a Gravely. BCS makes a rotary plow that works about the same. No need to do anything other than use it and then rake the beds in the shape you want.

Dry trash from the previous season? The 26-30" tiller on my 850 incorporates stuff like that really well.

3-5 acres must be about the max for a single person with a single walkbehind tractor though. The moldboard is about 10"?

What do you plan to grow?
