Dave,

Who makes the FEL on your TC33D? Who makes the PHD you have? Do know now or did you know before you bought them? Who makes the NH tiller? Oh, its a NH, the same company that has lost a Billion dollars over the last 3 years. Will they be around for long? JD sells more tillers in the USA, than any MFG in the world. It is just because they have 3,000 locations, not because the customers know it's a Howard tiller. Just go into a JD dealer and ask for a tiller part they will not have it in stock. We have thousands of parts in stock that will not even be sold for 4-5 years. I understand if you purchase a lesser quality tiller than a CCM, you need to worry about parts availability. We have commercial landscapers operating the tillers 4-6 hours a day, 6 days a week for 6 months of the year and all they need is blades when they wear out. You will never put that many hours on a tiller. We have sold thousand of tillers world wide this year and have done so for 20 years. The CCM tiller is a great product for a great price. There are other good tillers MFG's out there so not everone will purchase a CCM tiller but get our share of them.

Has anyone heard of a Ferguson Tiller?

Hi,

I'm looking for the Agric web site address. Does anyone know what it is? I just did a search on Google but can't find it. All I know is that Agric is based in Spain. Although I did found some info on the Agric Tillers. I jusr purchased a 55" Agric tiller part of my package from my local JD dealer and I want to find out if it's at least a good Tiller.

Thanks,
Sylvain

Agric Tillers
They basically copied Howard and are one of the better MFG's

I'm surprised not more chatter about the First Choice brand tillers. Last year they where the talk of the town it seemed like. Anyways..I just recently bought a 48" First Choice tiller from Sweet Farms for my B7500 and have been rather impressed. I'm sure other (maybe all) brands do just as good a job but at ~$1100 delivered to upstate NY, I figured it was a bargin. Especially considering the cost for a "brand" name tiller if I bought local. And like it has been mentioned by a few on TBN, many implements are made by a few and sold under many names. Just like buying Cambells soup or your local grocers own brand. Tastes the same for the most part.

Mark,

Here's what you have told me and the rest of TBN in your previous posts:

( The Woods tiller is a Maletti & the Befco is a Rotomec.

Industrial Brand
These tillers came about as a result of WAC asking for a lower priced tiller than Caroni. But WAC got into a fuss with Sicma and Goforth took the WAC orders.

It's a Sicma and private labled WAC is in Bethel, OH and is a vender for Sicma. I believe this tiller is a ZLL chain driven tiller. The same tiller as a First choice RT04-56 or a Kioti KT03-55.

Howard does make the 550 JD.

Maletti makes NH tillers

Woods & Bush Hog are Maletti products. LP purchases some side gear boxes from Italy, Tines from Azzimondi, Center gearboxes from China and Italy. The King Kutter tiller has an Italian center gearbox with a Chinese Side gearbox. The tines I believe are Chinese or Indian now.

Caroni is not a First Choice,(Sicma), tiller. Caroni, Sitrex, DeL Morino, Tecna, Befco, Sovema, Muratori, Maletti & Maschio use some of the same suppliers and components so some models look alike.

If its says Spain on the blades then its the same MFG that supplies Agric, Agrator, and some Howards (JD) tillers made in Spain.

The tiller is made by Howard. You are paying for the Green Paint chain drive tiller. Actually the Frontier Tiller is made by Maschio and is better but still overpriced.

The Gearmore tillers are made by Ortolan and the Kubota tillers are made by Maletti, both Italian companies. The Landpride purchases components from Sicma, Azzimondi, & Eurocardan.

Concerning LP tillers. Before LP started buying components and assembling their tillers here Maschio made the first LP tillers. Then Sicma and now mostly Sicma components. Their tiller tines have always been made by Azzimondi. The tines on the reverse drive tiller are basically the same as Maschio but Azzimondi makes theirs too.

ScottAR your JD tiller is made by Howard

Some low-end tillers like King Kutter are gear drive but most of their components are from China. )

I just don't know why it is a secret, you have on many occassions shared with TBNers who manufactures which tillers, but you don't want to share who makes your own. It is fine with me if CCM is your private label, and you get your tillers from various manufacturers just like you've pointed out so many other companies do. I just don't understand why it is a secret.

I know that there's a good chance that I'm wrong, but I've taken tidbits of what you have shared and I would guess that some are made by a Turkish company. Turkey makes some great products and you needn't be ashamed of this. Turkey takes pride in having built the only two perfect F-16s ever manufactured. F-16s have been built in the USA, South Korea, Belguim & Turkey for total of more than 4000 planes.

You've been the source of a great amount of information, and I am impressed by the stats of your product for the prices that you are selling them, but the fact that you seem to have something to hide kind of scares me.

BTW, The University of Tennessee made my Ph.D., it's just down the road from you. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I have a 62" LandPride rototiller, bought new for 2489.00. Very satisfied and impressed with it! It works great, and has done both my field and a nieghbors. I have yet to break a tine, despite it dragging some good 8" rocks to the surface. I have it on a Kubota 3710 (39 Hp).
