TractorTeen,
I just ordered a Woods GTO60 (60" offset tiller) for my
B2910.
I wanted the offset feature because on our small property, maneuverability might be an issue. I figured it was better to have offset capability and not use it then to need it and not have it. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif The offset adds about $200.
The dealer suggested the 52" size to save $100. However, I have a 60" bucket on my loader. With a 60" tiller, I figured when it's time to start doing some serious landscaping around here, I can use the 60" tiller to loosen up the ground, then use the loader to scoop it up and move it and the tilled widths and loaded width will match.
I also figured that if for some reason the tractor had trouble with a 60" tiller at full depth, I could remove the tines from one flange and I'd basically have the 52" tiller.
On a slightly related side note, my dad has a 1973 Gilson 16 engine HP (single cylinder Briggs gas engine) garden tractor with a 36" tiller. He's had it since new, and although we haven't used the tiller in quite some time, it handled the tiller very well. He still uses the tractor regularly for cutting the lawn and snowblowing....what a great unit. And it's orange! ...and cream colored too.
