Tractor Sizing Tiller Size

Greetings...

In general, what size tiller should one get? Is there a general formula for size of tiller-PTO hp? Or simply try and cover the tractors tracks? As I'm looking around for tillers it's occured to me I should figure out what size to look for /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif.

Here's a link Muratori's guide to rotary tillers/hoes: If you click on the "category"menu and choose "rotary hoes" then at the "subcategory" menu, you can select
your tractor's horsepower. It will then give you an image of a tiller; click on the image and you will get info. on recommended HP for the tiller, along with dimensions, etc. I assume the info would apply to most other tillers as well.

Hmmmm.... Interesting site. Different tiller models they have seem to have different "recommended hp" ranges (all within 40hp max). I'd assumed (and we know what that means /w3tcompact/icons/eyes.gif!) that X hp meant you could run a Y inch tiller under Z circumstances...but that doesn't appear to be the case!

Take a look at the SSB tractor site under the category
rotary tillers. They have both heavy and light duty
tillers but seem to vary regarding HP and width.
