I like the Kuhn tiller that is 42" wide for maximum width in this area. Kubota only recommends a 40" for this tractor and the largest concern is the ground to be tilled.

Not too large. Probably has a slip clutch, make sure it is set correctly, if no clutch, make sure it has correct shear pin and many happy hours of tilling. Another thing per another thread, make sure the PTO shaft is not too long for the BX, if so that can be shortened, then many happy hours of tilling.:D

My vote is TOO large. There is a reason..??..why Kubota sets smaller limits on impliments for these lightweight tractors. My own B3030 is rated ( by Kubota) for a 48 inch tiller..and its a lot larger than a BX is.

Didn't you buy the Mini version of the B3030? I think I remember you said it won't operate a Post Hole Digger either.:)

While I agree its on the large side I think it will still be functional. I would probably do it especially if you can get the tiller for the right price. However to get it deep you will have to make more passes or go slower (HST speed not RPM :) ....)
I am thinking about a 48" for my B21 which has a couple less ponies than your BX. Just wont be able to take as much bite at a time. :D

Nope! Actually bought the BIG version of the BX series...:D And I dont care who says what...if the BX series had been all that its "proclaimed" to be...Kubota would have never brought out that newest critter the B26 Which ..if you havent seen one is nothing more than the B2630 with a loader and a backhoe and a canopy.

On FLAT GROUND my B3030 wont pull a standard Cat1 PHD totally free of the ground and it has the "industrial" tires on it

Also..there is a reason why Kubota put such "small impliment" restrictions on these CUT's and sub CUT's..and its to cover their own behinds. These things ARE NOT "heavy built" Ag tractors. Impliments much larger than "recommended" shake these toy tractors to death.

My farmer buggy has an old Ford..?.6?? series...right at 30 HP gasser...and it has mucho less problems with a 5 ft bush hog that my own B3030 does. And it also has to weigh in about 1200-1300 pounds MORE than my B3030 does. That "mass" is what dampens vibes..etc from impliments

I watched him running a square baler last weekend..using his L5030..and you could see the whole tractor shaking as that baler when thru its cycles. It sure doesnt move his larger international around...but then the "Big Red Machine" probably has 1500 pounds more weight.

Most of these CUTS dont get that much of a heavy workout to add all that many hours on them...but Id lik to keep mine as long as I want..IN ONE PIECE!!!....

While I agree Kubota covers their behind, I do believe it is all a weight issue. I totally disagree that the BX's are underbuilt. In fact, I think they are way more capable than the manual potrays them as. I have a 60" BB, for example, and, both it, and the 48" Brush Cutter I have are nearly 500 lbs. I Keep weight on the front and stay on level ground. If you oversize your implements you must make those extra precatutions. It is 640lbs. 24" aft of the link ends and 1200lbs. right at them. that s what I go by, but I cannot stress enough...BE CAREFUL!

Didnt say they were "underbuilt"...but I think too many get the impression that "if it has 24 HP...then "X" size impliment will work"...sort of thing

In your example..a 5 ft wide box blade and you HAVE TO keep weight on the front! Is that the "normal" operation for "most" tractors using a box blade? See what I mean? Maybe...MAYBE now..??..with say a 48 inch one, front weights wouldnt have been needed?? I "think" the Kubota recommended sizes are 42" and 48"...and Im SURE the outragious priced Kubota box blades are a LOT less weight.

Too many guys ( my farmer buddy included) want to just "bolt on" impliment "X" and "ram A**" to get the job done..and if they arent careful...in the long run they are going to pay for it.
