Tiller Tillers.. Which is better?

/ Tillers.. Which is better? #31
Currently 2003 First Choice tillers are available only in Red and Orange. Check when the site was last updated We are adding new and updated content the week of 11/06/02. If its Green or Blue stuff its last years production. http://www.firstchoiceequipment.net/ is the proper link.
Also First Choice has not removed the pictures of Midwest Equipment's production even though the separation was before 11/06/02. Sicma does make the Lighter Duty Industrial Tillers that have been seen in a noted advertising magazine. They are the ZLL models not the ZLS models as they used to sell. Maybe Sicma has gone to selling the lighter duty models to compete pricewise?

I have looked at the CCM tillers "Orange" but haven't seen a lot of information I was looking for, although I am not sure what I am looking for. My local dealer sells Landpride which appear to be a good unit, although very expensive for possibly my use. Do CCM units come in blue? I guess my real concern will be to get a unit that I know can be serviced if needed even if it is shipped in from out of state.

If its local support you are looking for new dealers are being added daily. CCM has been around 30 years pushing customer satisfaction not just making the sale. Most of the other dealers on TBN also offer the same support & service and that is why they are successful. Currently the CCM tillers are not available in Blue. Remember the gear drive and higher HP ratings are proof of extra capacity and durability that is engineered into the CCM tillers.

One brand that I haven't seen mentioned is Befco. It's sold at a local dealer and looks to be well built. Does anyone have any experience with Befco tillers?

Big rocks and big roots can do the trick.

I'm on my second befco tiller and I use them in the business I have. I put alot of hours on the units since I re-do lawns where I have to till under grass and weeds and starts fresh. Both units I have had are great no trouble what so ever. I now have a 66" unit and am planning to purchase a new 48" or 42" for my BX2200. They have a very simple side shift design which enables you to get close to fence lines and footers. I am very happy with their costruction and performance. Mark

19th_VA,

I moved the text of my procedure to another thread that was asking this question. See that post.

The reason I was asking between the the two was I am setting right between two JD Dealers that carry these. Ironic I am only 15mi either way between the 2 dealers /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I am sure there are lots of other competant products out there but looking for easy access for repair parts.

Just wanted opinions on the two tillers.

Thanks for all the info
