I am thinking of building a tilt bed bale accumulator to attach behind my wire tie square baler. Here are some preliminary cad drawings of what I am planning on building. I would like some constructive critisism on my design so I can improve it before I start to cut steel. I am designing it to collect 8 bales and then the bed will tilt and drop the 8 bales onto the ground. Once the bales are on the ground they will be picked up with a grapple attached to the front of the loader and stacked onto a hay wagon or semi trailer.

Here is a drawing of the accumulator with the bed tilted. I forgot to mention in my earlier post that i have not got the wheels designed yet, but they will be caster type so i can attach the accumulator to the baler in two spots. This would alow me to keep the baler running as i am making turns.

This is a drawing of the bale grapple that will be attached to the loader. There will be a hydraulic cylinder in the center that will rotate the circular speers into the bales.

Have you gotten any further with your plans to build the accumulator and grapple. I was just wondering because I have been looking at similar setup for possible future purchase. When you come up with something I would love to see it and talk to you about the plans and how hard it was to build.

Thanks

HAVEN'T HAD MUCH CHANCE TO WORK ON THE PLANS, BEEN BUSY AT WORK. I'M NOT SURE WHEN I AM GOING TO ACTUALLY BUILD THIS, I WAS JUST WANTING TO GET PLANS SO I COULD SCROUNGE UP THE PARTS THAT I NEED. SO FAR I HAVE THE HYDRAULIC CYLINDERS, SOME HYDRAULICS TUBING THAT I TOOK OFF MY OLD TOMATO HARVESTER, AND THE TIRES AND RIMS FOR THE CASTER WHEELS. I HAVEN'T QUITE FIGURED OUT HOW THE HYDRAULICS SYSTEM WILL WORK, SO I HAVEN'T GOT ANY VALVES YET. WILL POST UPDATED PLANS WHEN I GET A CHANCE TO WORK ON THEM.
