Tilt Trailers Good? Bad? Real World Input Appreciated

The dealer specs the units on his lot with radial tires and LED lights. I agree they are heavier than some of the others I have looked at, but they also appear to be of a higher quality than the others I have been able to find locally.

I have been looking for trailers for general hauling and also capable of hauling my 4500 lb tractor. Typical trailer add lists like this
This trailer measures 18 foot long and 82 inches wide

Comes complete with:

* Heavy angle frame four inch C-channel wrap tongue (that is connecting with the fenders) and a 2 inch bulldog hitch.

* Tandem - 3,500 lbs axles with electric brakes on rear.

* 15 inch rims with 6 ply load range C trailer-tires.

* 15 inch tall 3 inch pipetop rail.

* 5 foot stow away ramps located on passenger side
My question, are these trailers heavy enough to haul 40-50 HP compact tractors with FEL, bush hog and maybe box blade.

I'm in the market for the same type of trailer. I'm going with a 14Klb rated trailer derated to 10Klb so I can legally tow it with my class C license, dual 7Klb axles with electric brakes on both axles. I like the PJ trailers and there's a local dealer around my area.

No! I have one of these trailers and while they are very good they are not meant for that type of weight. My trailer will haul about 5,000# after you deduct the weight of the trailer itself. My Jinma 28HP tractor weighs 5,200# with the FEL and something on the 3 point and its the max my trailer will handle. Most cars weigh in at 3,500# so they are no problem and even pickups up to 1/2 ton weigh 5,000# so that is doable. I tow most of the time with my Diesel trucks so tongue weight is not so much of a issue but with a SUV or 1/2 ton it will be. The only real cure for this is a longer trailer that will allow you to move the load to balance.

You need a 10K or 12K trailer.

Chris

Thanks guys, I was afraid that the axles and frame were a little weak on this for hauling equipment. I suppose that dual 7K axles would handle the load, but I am not comfortable with angle iron frames regardless of size. Any one know of a reasonably priced heavy trailer built with C channel framing and heavy cross members that is sold in Houston Texas area.
