Kubota 2910
I own a B2910 w/o a canopy or cab. I purchased a tiltmeter from R&B and having problems figuring out a way to mount it. I did get the brackets. I would like to minimize hole drilling. I could mount it on the hood but I am worried as I spend alot of time clearing brush and I can see it catching on something if it is too far forward./w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif I am asking others who have solved this problem to tell me how and perhaps post a photo or diagram. I did email Rick at R&B and got the reply copied below. Thus the request. I thank all in advance./w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

<font color=red>From R&B:
"I have seen some Kubota owners use the instrument panel screws to hold a
flat steel bar,
about 1/8 thick, x 1/2 in. wide, cut to proper length. and a couple washers
under the bar
to raise it slightly off of panel. Then mount tiltmeter on this bar. I do
not have photos, however, if you ask
the guys on TBN, they will post their photos of Kubota mounting. I have seen
quite a few posts of pictures."</font color=red>

Re: Tiltmete Installation

Not sure what model tiltmeter you have (or even what model I have for that matter /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif ), but on my B2910, I mounted the bracket to the dash board screw (hood side, center of the dash). It sits behind the crossbar of the loader, so should be protected and it's close enough that I can see it no problem. I'm at work now, but can post a picture when I get home if you'd like...

Sure would like to see a photo. I really don't know which model I have either. Its a center 0 with 50 degrees either way with 20 degree mark in yellow. Came with brackets.

Rick, I know there are some pictures on the forum, but don't remember where. Sounds like you have a model 7489C (I think that's right). I have two tiltmeters, but mine are mounted to my canopy. Give this a day or so though and I'll bet some of the guys who posted pictures before will answer you.

Here's a photo of the back side showing the bracket and center screw on the rear of the dash. The bracket came with the tilt meter, but it'd be easy enough to make from some scrap.

Where can I find this R&B place or any other place that sells tiltmeters?...Seems like a good idea to me/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Their web address is:

http://www.tiltmeter.com

Hmmmmmm. I just went there and noticed they've done some website remodeling. Not working too good on my Mac w/Netscape 4.7 right now. Might be a work in progress.

Give it a try, or give them a call -- (816)587-9814. Rick won't steer you wrong. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Thanks for the link Harv. On a PC running Netscape 4.7 there seems to be alot of missing graphics but the links and content seem to be OK.

I never heard of this device before now. Seems like a good idea but I'm not quite sure how. Is there some specific angle that will cause a given tractor to roll over? How would one know given all the variables with a tractor... loaded tires, wheel weights, implements etc.? Is this more a "piece of mind" device? Or is there something else I'm missing, which wouldn't be too unusual /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif?

Thanks for the photos. My particular model has two brackets and is a little larger. From the first photo, it appears the tiltmeter is not perpendicular but appears to be in the second photo. If it is, and I heard somewhere it should be, you just re-bent the bracket? Your solution is in line with what I plan to do but I am a little hesitant to try to re-bend the brackets since I will have to bend them by hand and I am worried about getting the bend right on two brackets.
Thanks again/w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
