Tiltmeter Installation

/ Tiltmeter Installation #11
Rick, no problem on the pictures...
The tiltmeter is perpendicular, but may not appear to be in the photos. I did need to bend the bracket, but it wasn't a big deal for one. I put one end in a vice and used a little muscle power to bend it 'till it was right. I wouldn't think it'd be too tough to bend two brackets to match, but then you'd have to put a new hole in the tractor /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif! Maybe you could rig up one piece of metal that attaches to the two mounting holes on the tiltmeter, then have just one bracket hung off that?

Dave, there was a long discussion about tiltmeters a while ago...do a search on TILTMETER. Lots of opinions expressed (as usual /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif) ranging from it's wothless, it's dangerous, it's an added safety feature, to it's a must have /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif. Personally, I bought one since my land has a slope to it and I have a new (expensive) B2910 I'm not really too familiar with yet. When on a hill, I keep an eye on the tiltmeter and when it approaches 15 degrees or so, I back off a bit and take it a bit easier. I'm sure as I get use to driving the tractor around the yard more, I'll be using it less. Still, I think it's nice to have, even as a reminder.

Thanks Jerry. I'll do the search when I find some extra time!
