jk, still can't say enough to convey my thoughts about how awesome your place is. Belongs in a magazine. Like Dave, I'm glad you are going to have a back splash. :)

The weather is finally looking better here. Roofing started today. Siding should start at the end of next week along with stonework. All of the wood floors are down however we have about 2 weeks before we can get them finished. Interior doors should be in Tuesday. We have our current place rented out starting the first week of May so the countdown is on. We have 4 weeks to get the inside wrapped and ready for move in.

Your ceilings just amaze me. You will have to pad all your tables and sharp edges because everybody is going to be looking up and not know where they are going!!! :)

Thanks Eddy. I'm still not used to them yet. There are times I find myself just looking up trying to take it all in when I should be working. Everyone that walks in for the first time does the same thing as well.

We are really fortunate to be able to build our home while our kids are young enough to enjoy it. I just hope they understand how lucky they are someday and I can instill the same work ethic that my parents passed on to me as they grow up.

Stonework on the outside has started. East side of the house is roofed and ready for the west side. Lots of rain last night and today so everything is at a standstill on the outside again. I've started the tongue and groove in bedrooms and have started trimming a few windows. I stole TKappelers idea for window trim. It really looks nice and adds a little extra over standard trim. Thanks Tom. (Edit - and Tom's wife)

We brought a small tv to the house a few days ago for the kids. Even with 80 acres to explore they still want their tv and ipad time. They are getting pretty excited now about moving.

Beautiful home.

Love the design and workmanship.

Kids are looking like they like the place too;)

Are they taping up the seams of the house wrap? What about the windows? While I'm a big fan of insulation, I think that wind getting past the house wrap is a bigger concern then the R factor of the walls. Wind is worse then water at finding a way into a house and it takes a lot of energy to overcome it.

Great pics of the kids, that little guy in the middle looks like he might be quite a character!! :)

Eddie that little guy in the middle is Landan and he is a handful. We're going to have to keep a close eye on him. Lol.

My siding guys are going to take care of taping windows and house wrap when they start the siding job. My framers did a really poor job on the house wrap. I think I could have done a better job at night. A lot of patch jobs, no tape, sheeting exposed at the bottom below the wrap. I even found one spot where the wrap had a u-shaped rip in it. Instead of taping, they put about 30 staples around the rip to hold it together.

Here's a few updated pics. Excavator showed up early this morning and started digging for the ground loop. Shingles should be wrapped up today. I've also finished trimming the second floor windows and just started on the master bedroom on the first floor. Tongue and groove along with all of the doors and windows in the master are finished. I'll wait to do base trim until the floors are finished.

You've done a great job of balancing out the amount of stained wood vs. lighter building materials to make the interior look rich, but not too dark and monotonous. Congrats, it's going to be great.
