Can 26hp at the pto run a tw3 or tw3hd at full speed?

says 16 hp is required so you should be fine. With 26 hp available you could put a higher volume pump on and reduce your cycle time.

Careful! I have the TW3-HD. It loafs along on my bigger tractors. I tried it one time on my Kubota B2710 (27hp, 20 hp pto). When the cylinder reached the end of stroke, it killed the Kubota engine like a brick wall! I don't mean "stalled" it, it was instantly dead! I was afraid it might have damaged the tractor.
Also the Timberwolf may be too heavy for the 3pt on a smaller tractor. Check your specs.

Just to provide you with a little more perspective:
Hydraulic pumps are tested in this manner for their flow rates;
The hydraulic pumps are spun up to 1200 revolutions per minute and
the pressure/resistance is increased to one hundred PSI
SO all pressure ratings are created using the 1200 RPM 100 PSI baseline.

The answer is no. Not at full potential.
Requires 30HP Tractor Engine
However, it will run OK up till you get to the stall pressure.
That splitter will run on any tractor, however a little slower with low HP.
Even on a 30 HP tractor, you may only have 26 HP at the PTO.
At 15 GPM, and 2500 psi, HP requires is 26.
If your PTO hyd pump is set to 2200 psi, it will only take about 23 HP, and 15 GPM and that will determine the speed of the cyll.
Most people don't like to run the engine at max rpm.
PtO pump is 21 GPM, and at 2500 psi will require about 36 PTO HP.
If the 21 GPM pump is regulated to 2200 psi, HP required is 32.
I called the TW factory, and the pressure setting is 2200 psi.
Point here is if you run into some hard wool a lot, the cyl will try and develop pressure, and it could go above 2200 psi and could stall the tractor.
So thing to do is to install a hyd gage and watch the pressure, and you will know when you are about to stall.

Wow, I am surprised a company like TW can get away stating a 16hp tractor engine is all that is required on a 21gpm PTO pump.
As JJ said, 21GPM pump @ 2500psi nees every bit of 36HP AT THE PTO. THat would be a ~42hp tractor.
Your 26HP tractor is only good for 15 GPM @ 2500psi.
Doing some reverse figuring:
26HP can only run that 21gpm pump up to 1800psi before you stall. With that 4" cylinder bore, that will give you 11 tons of force max with your tractor. any more and you will stall.
Again, I dont know what I am missing, but find it very odd that TW says a 16hp engine will be fine??

Its funny, THe TW3-HD lists the same 21gpm pump, but calls for 30HP?
