Timberwolf tw3 n tw hd pto log splitter

Anyone know if the tw3 is just too much for the dk40 with 32.5 hp pto 41 engine

I have the TW3HD, and it needs more than 16 to have full power... But 32 PTO hp tractor should run it just fine... I assure you, 16hp isn't going to cut it!! I run mine "most of the time" on my 30 PTO Deutz and with really tough crotches, the governor kicks in a bit, but with everything else it doesn't even slow down one bit...

My TW3HD model is one of my best buys ever!!

HE asked about the TW3.

According to TW, The TW3HD requires 30HP

That's odd, the title of this thread is
Timberwolf tw3 n tw hd pto log splitter

SO, I thought he was asking about BOTH! I guess that hd there, meant something else?

Ur better off with a stand alone if u have 1 tractor for the price of tw3 or tw3hd, very nice quality splitter but american cls is just as good n u can use the loader as a lift for the logs, I don't werk for american, but do like good quality equipment.

I've run a tw3 on a kubota b3030 for years ~23 pto hp. It has never stalled the tractor. I've split up to 30" oak. The tw3 HD has a larger diameter cylinder. The cycle time is well faster than I can keep up with. Being a single speed pump, it never slows down. Weight is a concern with birth units, even the non HD is HEAVY. Either of these units will outperform all but the most serious standalone units. The HD has a slower cycle time due to the larger cylinder

All true, the HD also is built stronger all around and comes with the slip on 4-way wedge... (that I wouldn't want to be without!!)

The CLS is NOT built as strongly as the TW3HD, maybe not important to some folks, but it sure is to me, as I'm running some serous crotch wood through the 4-way time after time!

Everything goes right through it, i've not even come close to stopping it!

I use my loader to hold my firewood logs over my wagon, and they are cut to length right there,

Then I can roll those huge chunks right off the wagon onto the beam of my splitter,

It works perfectly, and saves my back from beginning to end!

I have the cls super log splitter priced the same as tw2 hd= tw3hd it's heavier than the tw2 hd n they use a 4"x6" tubular frame which is stronger than I beam frame with 6 sec cycle time, I'm lucky to have a american n timberwolf dealer near by n was able to compare the 2, it was a tuff decision I went with the american cause I got more for the buck n high quality splitter to boot, it's more comparible to a tw5 fc
