Tipping butt pucker!!

Aaron, great photo. The best photo I've ever saw showing the value of a ROPS. Looks like it's the only reason that tractor didn't go onto it's lid!!!

Thanks guys. Unfortunately I was not smart enough to be wearing the seat belt at the time (lesson learned). Fortunately God was watching over me. The tractor tipped ever so slowly and sits low enough that I had time to step/hop off and out of the way. Not a scratch on me or the tractor.

Here is a pic from another angle. I was able to attach a strap to the ROPS, and a come-a-long to the tree on the bank behind the tractor and easily tip it back over. I let it sit for awhile to give the fluids time to drain back to where they belong and it fired right up. Been running fine ever since.

Never had a issue with front tipping, in fact we used to see how long we could go on the front wheels with the loaders! Not good with our tractors but it still happens. Now Aaron's tip on it's side is what scares me. I tipped a skidder on it's side but it righted itself when I turned into the direction of the tip. [nice thing about articulating machines] Had to think about that for a minute or 2 before going back to work! CJ

I think what happened to you is the hazards of a BH on the back. Your boom was pointing straight back. So the high weight of the boom pulled the tractor over. I use my Brother's full sized hoe a lot in the timber. I'm very cautious about swinging the boom to the high side when on a side incline.

Did that ordeal make you feel a little stupid when it happened?? I have this vision of you standing there looking at the tractor and talking outloud to yourself about how stupid you were!!! No disrespect intended. :)

Yes it did. :) Stupid for not wearing a seat belt, stupid for having the fel too high, stupid for not watching the left side of the machine (the front left tire climbed the bank and the fel full of dirt/rocks took me over), and stupid for operating the machine while alone on my property with the nearest family being an hour away.

95% of the time I'm alone when on my tractor. Help is 20 minutes away. That is,,,,, if I can get to my phone...... So, I'm very, very cautious. Always watching where all four tires are and where my load is. I am rarely surprised by something like that. I'll bet you keep closer watch on all that stuff now too!!!
