I can tell you what tires NOT to buy. Perelli Scorpion A/T. The set I bought for my full-size truck was well rated, and had a mileage warranty. Good thing too, because by 25k, all four tires were down on the wear bars.
I liked them for the first 15k miles. Good traction and a smooth ride. Not worth the money though.
Based on that experience, I'm only buying truck tires with a mileage warranty, since it appears that there is little difference in cost between warranted and non-warranted tires. In your case, only using them during snow season, this may not be a factor.
I am now running BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A's. Anybody have a set of these? Are they any good? They were plenty pricey.
