I think a lot of us don't realize that some of you are running chains that weigh a lot more than some of us.. I would not have any problem lifting up a set of my chains and putting them 7 foot up a wall, but apparently some of you guys chains weigh a lot.

My tires are 18.4x30s. Chains are straight crossbar 2 link. Here's a pic of a crossbar. Very heavy chains.

A good couple framing nails will hold a couple HUNDRED lbs when driven in on a 45* angle. All you guys have TINKER toys, so the chains are not that heavy. I have 25 and 50' of 3/8 chain on nails, so you should have NO PROBLEMS doing the same

Evidently you don't own a set of tractor chains....

Just took off the 4-link roller chains from my B2320. I hung them in the shed on 20d nails driven into the wall studs at 45 degrees. No prob. I hang the 20 foot 3/8 logging chain that way too.

Thanks you. Someone who HAS done it not just run their mouth

I think what grm61 is talking about is the overall weight of tire chains, totally dependant on tractor tire size.

We've got guys in this conversation with as small as 26x12x12 rear tires. Obviously they can hang those on nails.

You ain't hangin mine on nails,,, if you can lift them up TO hang on nails.

We're all together is this discussion. Just too many variables for one rule to apply broadly. It's all good. :)
