Hi guys, with the white stuff just around the corner, was thinking of picking up a set of tire chains for the rear tires on my CT235. Have the R-1 AG tires and believe tire size is 11.2-24. Anyone have the AG tires and think there may be clearance issues with the wheel well fender. I don't think so, but just wanted to check with you guys that may have them. Looking at tirechains.com at the duo grip ladder chains. Let me know.

I do not have tire chains, and I only have loaded R4's.
Last year was my first year and was kinda worried, but didnt have a single issue in North East Indiana

I am in Manitoba, Canada. I have a CT230 with R4's and push/blow snow. Not many problems without chains.

I would try your tractor in the snow before you purchase the chains. I can plow a lot of snow with my Bobcat Ct235 (Ag Tires) without the need for chains.
Last winter we had quite a bit of snow, so much in fact my wife wanted a place to hack the horses throughout our property. I was plowing through about two feet with the loader down and with the 5 foot box blade down as well. It was working hard but did the job. I had to pull off the track to dump the load every 40 feet or so but never bogged down.
I don't know how much snow you get but I sure don't need chains!

I would suggest try it and see. I have a CT450 with Loaded R4s went about 1/3 of the winter without chains, upstate NY, but just could not push anymore with out them. My driveway is 400 and is uphill to the house. Plus I too needed to plow out the horse pastures and paths to manure piles. I am thinking about adding front chains this year because of all the added off driveway plowing I have to do.

I just went ahead and ordered the chains. I got my tractor in January this year and my driveway is also uphill to the house and there were a few times with some icing spots that I figured if I had chains it should make a difference. We'll see how they work out!

The begining of Winter has never been a problem for me. Once the ground freezes, you get some icy patches, or hard packed snow, the unloaded R4s start to slip. Sometimes I'm pushing 15" plus. I first put 3/8" 2 link ladder chains on the rear and it made it push like a dozer but I plow with a front blade. Even in 4wd, the fronts wouldn't steer well. I put 1/4" 2 link ladder chains on the front and besides steering well now, it goes forward even better. For me, the chains are needed but it depends a lot on your conditions.
