Would thier be enough clearance for tire chains if I went with turfs on a 2520? Also, what would the overall width be? My local dealer only has a very limted inventory so I can't look at one set up this way. thx Photos of the rear end of a 2320 & 2520 with turfs would be great.

I have a 2520 and have both turfs and industrial tires. I think chains would fit, the only thing to watch is the clearance between the tire and the 3pt arm. The rears need to be set out to clear the arm if using a quick hitch. (valve stems in) Also the tires on 2520 are larger and wider than 2320.
The tire width has me worried. I have to run chains in the winter. I will get the I-Match. Are the JD factory turfs wider than the Ind and which one has the best clearance on the inside for the 3-pt. I was even wondering if you could put 2320 tires on a 2520 to completely eliminate the clearance issue?

I have the Ind. tires on right now and just measured from the edge of lug to the 3pt. arm in the raised position and it measured 1 3/8". I would say the turfs are about the same. When I got my tractor and put the quick hitch on my tires rubbed the arms. They all will unless you rotate the wheels. As far as swapping the 2320 to 2520 wheels and tires you could but you have to swap all four. Just a question, could you just get the industral tires and not need chains, or is it a ice issue?

There is more room on the 2320 than on the 2520 by far. On the 2320, the turf tires are 1 1/2" wider than the R-4's (13.5" vs 12") but there is still plenty of room. I don't think that the tires from a 2320 could be used on a 2520 because it looks like the diameter ratio front to rear is different. They both have about the same size front tire, but the 2520 has much larger rear tires. I am looking at a 2320 partly for the extra tire clearance.
I need chains due to ice and side hill issues. I am getting a BH and ahve pretty much ruled out the 2305 bcz of clearance. I would like the extra "umphf" of the 2520, but the tires are an issue. I may end up with a 2320 bcz of it.

Just looked on Deere's web site, The tires are different.

Don't expect the R4's to do anything other than spin on hard packed snow/ice. I LOVE my R4's for dirt, mud, sand, etc, but they absolutely suck in the snow. I have chains to put on, but I have been too lazy to install them so far. 
Some time back someone figured out the "ratios" for the front:rear tires and provided a range of what would eb acceptable. I don't know what is doable insize range.
I probably would never have an issue with the 2320, but since I'm down sizing from a L3830 I think I would prefer the increaes power & hydro flow of the 2520.

I ordered tire chains from my local JD dealer a couple days ago. They should be here by end of this week. I'll report back my findings on the 3ph clearance with the chains installed. At this point, I don't have my tires installed wide, but I suspect I'll need to do that.
I don't have the model number of the tire chains, but they're a JD product and they have 4 link spacing. According to my JD dealer, they don't have a tire chain that'll fit the 2520 that has 2-link spacing. We'll see how much of a difference it makes on the hard-packed snow.
