Tire Pressure for PT-425 Turf Tires?

I found them on overstockwheels website. They are not lug but turf saver tires.

I know this is an older thread but I have to vent I just ran a tomato stake right through the sidewall of my carlisle tire. I bought a new tire (not a carlisle) because it was less expensive $47 compared to $108 to $188 at different locations. It is a great tire and 4 ply at that now I am thinking I want to put these tires all way around. If I had a buyer for the other 3 good ones left on the tractor I would sell them reasonable and buy 3 new of the others. These 2 ply are really soft tires to handle, the 4 ply was a bear to put on and stiffer to boot.
I can see why adding more air might have saved me some time, labor and cash. The bad thing is I didn't even get many tomatoes of the stupid things.

I have three stock turf tires and one non-turf tire on my 425. It is more agressive than the turfs and it is also 4 ply. That being said, it gets less traction than the turfs because, I think, it is harder. and has less tread pattern with bigger lugs. I will say it has never gotten punctured like the turfs.

To determine the correct tire pressure to use for my PT-425 I primarily considered what pressure in Front was needed when the bucket was fully loaded?

With maximum load, I adjusted the Front pressure to have the sidewall compressed to about one half of its unloaded height. This is 11#. 11#, of course, is plenty with no load.

Next, with the tractor unloaded, I measured the length of the Front footprint, and adjusted the pressure in the Rear to achieve the same footprint length for the Rear. This is 7#.

The results are that there is adequate Front pressure to carry any load. Most loads are much less than the maximum! The Front is as soft as it can be for a nice footprint and a soft ride. The Rear has enough pressure to carry its maximum load, which is when the tractor is unloaded, and has a nice footprint and soft ride.

Hard tires tax the wheel motor bearings, give a hard ride, provide a smaller footprint with less traction, and spin more easily! In 500 hours I have had zero tire problems, and it is used 90% in the woods, climbing gently over all sorts of obstacles with scary loads!

PS: YES, MY WHEELS HAVE BEEN REVERSED! The best thing that can be done to increase stability and safety!!

PPS: The tractor weighs about ~1400# and a full load of ~800# puts ~2200# on the Front and 0# on the Rear!

PPPS: I see no advantages to putting liquid in PT-425 tires!
