One advantage of using a local tire service, is they will come to your farm...and do ALL of the work...:D

well, my tires are small, i can just take the tires and rims to dealer right?

Not necessarily. Tire machines will work up to a certain designed size limit. A place that only sells car tires may not be able to mount your rear tractor tires unless they do it by hand and the personnel may not have the skills or tools for the job -- there is risk of damage to the bead area or the rim if you just try to force the tire on with a crowbar and hammer or something.

If they do sell tractor tires, they may not want to mount tires you bought elsewhere without charging you a nice price for the service.

Most major tire wholesalers will carry a dealer locator. Goodyear and Titan both had locators when I bought my tires for my CUT.

I put a rear tire on our Farmall Super C once, well twice. Only took me a half a day, then I realized the tread was going the wrong way and got to do it over. JC

I went online and searched around when I was looking for tires. I could find better prices then Les Schwab but with shipping it ended up about the same. Then you still need to get them mounted. So I ended up with Les Schwab doing the work. It took them 2 weeks to get the new tires in mounted and foam filled. They said it took an extra week because they ordered the Goodyears first instead of the Titans. $1100 for two 9.5x16" Ag tires mounted and foam filled

I did just that when I bought my tires. I searched Goodyear and Titan for the exact R4s for my rims......found a dealer on their site....then I jacked up my tractor and blocked it and rolled the rims with the old tires in the back of my truck. I went to the dealer and he drained out the fluid, removed and disposed of the old tires and mounted the new ones. I ended up paying a little more due to some scale issues inside the old rims that they had to repair and I also added tubes. Good Luck!

When I had to replace the Titan tires on the front of my CK30 I phoned around and everyone else wanted $150 ea. and up, got 'em from Les for $96 ea. I bought 4, two new on tractor and two on hand. And to mount them "small" tires your self is a PITA, I know!

When I replaced my tires I went from AG R1s to Industrial tread R4s because any where I go from my garage I am on my lawn. I use my tractor on my lawn for landscaping and also for heavier work out in the field. The R4s are not as destructive to my lawn and are aggressive enough to go out in high grass or mud. I have had zero problems with traction. Now let me clarify that statement.......my CUT is MWFD and that helps in the winter time and soft conditions. If I did not have to be careful where I go I would own Ag R1s for price and traction. In my opinion it all depends on the surface you are on.
