There are plenty of tires. If it is 4x4 it is a little more critical to match size/OD. If it is 2wd it isn't. Check with Robert at Hey Wheel. He has made custom wide rims for me several times. The price is very reasonable. They are usually overbuilt. He takes lage equipment rims and puts custom centers in them. You can match the offset perfectly, or make them wide set. 785-594-3441 I attached an F 22 I put Industrials on.

Welcome to the group. Mine is a YM1500 but you can get some idea of what I did. I bought a pair of brand new 13.5" wide turf tires on John Deere rims that were about 1 inch in diameter less than the old tires. I cut two pieces of 7.5" aluminum and machined adapters to go from the 5.5" bolt pattern of the Yanmar to the 6" pattern for the Deere. Worked out great for me so especially if you are 2WD look at ebay for tires. Mine were 272.00 for the pair including shipping. Turned around and sold my rice tires and recouped most of my outlay. If you go to the link below you can get some more ideas ofd how I did it.

Ok glad to help. You need to measure the rolling circumference of your current tires and then match it to the new tires. A little harder than on a 2WD but most tire websites will list the information you need. The wider stance makes a huge difference as I found out. Also by going to the turfs I now longer bury the tractor if I hang up using the box blade or dirt scoop they will spin on the surface. As far as traction I have not noticed any less than before. Good luck.

Ok.Bama35640. Isee you are from morgan co. I'm from jefferson co. I bought this tractor approx. 1 mo. ago and don't know much about these things. Why is it harder to do this on a 4x4 than on a 2x4. That tractor looks good with those wide tires. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Kenmac:

It's the rolling circumference of your current tires that make it harder to do this on a 4x4 tractor that comes into play and you don't have much wiggle room on this, if you go wider and not taller it's not a problem (I think) It's when you start changing the distance each tire will roll in one revolution and if you don't keep it the same ratio the back will be pushin' the front or the front will be pullin' the back, and thats when your knuckle gears start strippin' or loosing teeth.

I think I explaned that right?

You got that right Whiskey. And I believe they are designed to pull just a wee little bit from the front.
i'd like to get a pair of those fattys on my 2210 - looks way more stable. Would have to get now chains /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thanks whiskey. The wide stance is what I want, the current height is fine.I guess you are saying I can go with the same height or shoter tire & wheel, just no taller .is this correct?

Kenmac:

Your part way there, you can go wider (I think again) but not taller or shorter. Taller and shorter tires will change the rolling circumference.

Think of it this way, while your setting there and reading this get a quarter and dime out of your pocket and roll them one revolution across your computer desk bet you the quarter will cover more distance than the dime...well did you try it...was I right? Now think of the quarter is your back tire and the dime is your front tire.

The new tires you replace the existing tires with will have to roll the same distance as they do now. Now with that said....I bet your setting there and thinking "can I incress both front and back the same % in relation to what they are now" and to tell you the truth I don't have a clue...it's make my brain hurt to think about it!

The rolling circumference was set up by some guy with way to much time on his hands back in Japan at the Yanmar factory, and he's going to be real pissed if you change all his math and calcuation on his design, and just might show up at your door with a calculator in his hand and a pen protector in his pocket and screaming at you!
