I'm in the process of buying a b2150 with loader and backhoe and turf tires with about 50% remaining. I plan to make trails through my 20 acre woods. Will I get enough traction with turf tires, or do I need Ag. tires?

If you come in contact with wet dirt (mud) it can clog up the treads and know you have slicks. maybe you can put some chains on them. may be cheaper than new tires. If you get new tires go for a high ply rating so branches do not puncture the tires while your in the woods.

I'm going to check out a similiar b2150 w/loader and hoe in my area. Has under 400 hrs good shape overall. I don't know how the hours compare to yours but I'd be interested in knowing price asked or paid as a reference point. Thanx

for that kind of work i think u might need ags, turfs with 50% wear will be like slicks in woods. and if it is real mudy u may want to consider chains.

R4's are the best all around choice I think. The turfs in the woods can be punctured easily in the side wall. Be careful there are a large thin area to get damaged.

Like the other genltemen have said..chains and I would also add some rear ballast.

I have an L3010 TLB and do a lot of work in my forest -- mostly logging but also some trail maintenance. When trying to choose between Aggies and R4s I had only to consider my neighbor's experience. He got R4s for the puncture resistance...and after a week of getting stuck multiple times each day he was forced to add a winch to pull himself out of trouble. It wasn't mucky at all, but any mud that loaded his tires reduced him to slicks. He tried chains briefly. They worked great, but he soon got tired of removing them when going into areas he didn't want damaged...like turf and blacktop.

I've been running ags on mine, and though on rare occasions during Spring thaw have lost traction, it's nothing that the FEL couldn't get me out of. Had two flats in two years...both times from driving over my own bright red logging hooks! /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif
