Are those the forks that have the mount for the Hay spear in them? Thats what I bought - although I already had the blades...

Slop on the SSQA pins is a common long running problem with them. Their problem not building to standards properly.

When I found that issue with mine a few months ago they promptly offered to swap out the frame or a $70 credit to have a welder fix things. I pocketed the money and welded on some flat stock myself to tighten things up.

No, mine do not have the spear sleeve welded on them. I was kind of surprised when mine fit so good, I had read on TBN that several people had a sloppy fit and had to weld shims in. I am happy I don't have to mod them.

Fallon;

Received my 48" Titan pallet forks last week and the SSQA pins on my Bush Hog 5045 FEL locked into the Titan PF easily and completely. Actually even better than the 84" bucket that came with my FEL.

When I hook up to any of our SSQA attachments, I curl FEL forward, lift, then curl FEL back and forward to assure that the attachment is secure, then rotate the SSQA lock pins. EZ-PZ no problems. We have the following SSQA attachments;

Bush Hog 84" Bucket

Armstrong Ag Bale Spear

Blue Diamond 84" Grapple

Titan 48" Pallet Forks

All connect easily and have more than satisfactory SSQA pin insertion into slots in implements. I have never had to modify any of our implements to hook up to BH FEL.

If you have difficulties with more than one SSQA attachments you might look at your FEL?

The OEM bucket fits fine, the forks are the only other SSQA item I have. They were about 1" loose. The pins almost didn't even catch the frame at all when they were all the way down.

$70 is not bad for welding on a couple of shims, I would do that all day, and provide the welder and the 7018.

Same as most people ordered the 42" pallet forks from Titan and it was a smooth transaction. Forks are just as ordered. I have used them a lot moving logs and hauling firewood. The only improvement is I would make is making the bottom rail a little stouter.

A question for those who bought the 48" pallet forks:
What size pallet were they shipped on and did they hang over any edge of the pallet?

Mine are arriving at the freight depot on Friday and I need to know which truck to bring. My normal, everyday truck has a contractor's cap on it with a 50" opening between the 2 doors. I can borrow my buddy's truck (he's out to sea at the moment) with an open bed if need be.

If it comes down to it you can just remove the 3 parts from the pallet and slide them in the back of your truck. Easily done by 1 person if you can raise the pallet to bed height. That or likely just rotate the pallet 90 degrees. I can't confirm the pallet size though, even for my 42" forks, it was a while ago. I wouldn't rely on pallets being the same size either, not like it's a critical component that never changes.

My 48" came on a standard pallet (48" x 42"). You'll have no trouble, you can muscle them around if you have to. Frame & forks are lying flat about 8" high above the pallet.

To make a long story short, I had a delivery issue with Titan concerning my 60" JD grapple. I tried to remain positive and patient, and I received the grapple approximately 2 weeks late after I convinced them their tracking number was wrong and my grapple was never delivered. To make matters worse, today when I tried to install the new grapple on my FEL, I realized the bottom pins are not spaced properly to fit the FEL

They were welded about 1/2" too high which does not allow them to fit into the pin hole frame on the FEL (the welds all over the grapple are a subject for a different day).

I will withhold final judgment until Titan decides what to do with the grapple. Will they pay to have a welder come out to grind off the lower pin brackets and re-weld in the proper location? Will they pick it up, re-package everything, send it back and send me a new grapple? I certainly don't want to load this thing up, re-package with angle iron and wire and transport to a shipper. And I certainly don't want to drive the tractor and grapple to a welding shop 10 miles each way from our property to have the grapple pins refitted by a welder. This is very inconveniencing to say the least. Hopefully, Titan will find a viable and timely solution.

I don't know. I called them and they told me to send them pictures. I did within 5 minutes. However, they did not respond to my email this afternoon. Hopefully, I'll hear something positive first thing Monday morning. I'll see what happens. So far, I'm certainly not having a good experience.

I like Titan but have to admit their fit is on again, off again. I have no idea why. Good prices, decent quality, but the dimensions are a flip of the coin.

Titan's advise was to grind the pin to the point that it will fit into the hole on the bottom of the FEL. That is roughly 1/4" less diameter the entire length of the pin... I realize most of the strength lies with the connector at the top of the grapple and not at the bottom connection. What do y'all say about the reduction in strength of the pin?

I have a bale spear and 48" pallet fork for my t250 bobcat track skid loader. I have the power bobtac option on my loader. I have had issues with the pin plate on the bottom of the ssqa frame bending. Say something got between the two plates, and the ssqa didnt sit back all the way. THe pin would come down and hit the flat steel and bend the **** out of it. I think they need to beef that up, or make it so that instead of each ear being its own peice, that the pin pockets need to be a solid peice of steel all the way across. I will post pictures of what i did to mine in the morning. I took an welded a place across the entire bottom of the ssqa plate. Its almost 1/2" now. No more bending!

Return it and get something from a reputable company. Do you really want to watch that thing turn back into recycled rusted scrap over the next 13 months?
