I missed out on the deal of the year for a like new mx8 yesterday. I'll be needing a new shredder by the end of the month to accompany my mx15. I was considering the howse, but apparently they suddenly closed their doors at the first of the year. I called the dealer I was going to buy the howse from and they told me that they were switching to titan implements out of Tennessee. I started looking at them and like the 117" 1800 series but I have never heard of them. Does anyone have any experience with them? Supposedly built in the us and have a 5 year gear box warranty. Will probably go with a pull behind and possibly convert to a semi mount if necessary. I like the price point at less than 4K too. 7 ga deck with decent hp gear boxes and 3" capacity.

Will need to order in the next couple days to get a green one. Any input? I'll just be shredding grass and pasture. No clearing.

Bump for the day time crowd! Internet doesn't have much info either. They have been in business since 2014 so obviously they haven't been around for long but hopefully someone has put their hands on them and can comment

There are a lot of companies with Titan in their name.

There are a lot of threads on here about Titan pallet forks and SSQA problems, but I think that is a different company.

This looks like the one you are looking at: Titan 18 Series

Maybe someone knows something about them.

That's exactly it! I initially thought it was the titan pallet fork guys at first and wanted nothing to do with a Chinese shredder. Then I started to study up on the real company and I'm interested to sure

It's an older style without a domed lid but for a company to advertise 3" capacity with decent hp gear boxes I'm wanting to check them out

Looks like a well built unit. Check on tip speed though, couldn't find it in the specs for the 8/10 foot cutters.
Years ago, I had an old Woods cutter with really slow tip speed and it left a terrible cut, even with sharpened blades.

Called the manufacturer. Tip speed was around 14,900. Sounded like great folks. Got some dealer info and one quoted me around 7k and the other was a "don't hold me to this but it should be" price of 3700-3800 for the same thing???

Don't know what the real price is. Called them back and asked for the firm price and I'll go from there. For 7k, I would just buy an mx8

How does it compare to Kodiak cutters.

Looks very similar. Specs line up pretty close. Got some firm numbers. For the 1810p from one dealer it's $4900, from the other dealer the best they could do is 6800!

Big difference. I'm still trying to find a like new used JD MX8 though.

Living here in TN, I have heard of them, haven't seen one in person though. Looking at the pics, i'm wondering if those are solid welds on the cross members on top of the unit.

I recently picked up a Titan 1708 Brush cutter. Three point hitch, 8 foot width, dual gearbox. Weighs 1250 lbs. I have a Kubota L4760hstc tractor. For the money this is an excellent cutter and I would recommend it. I used a 6 foot King Kutter (and still have it). The 8 foot Titan is smooth when running and gives an excellent cut. Way better than a single gearbox 6 foot. I also have used a new 6 foot Bush hog branded cutter and it does not perform better than the cheaper King Kutter. Another note. The Titan with the 2 gearboxes takes less power to run than the 6 foot cutters.

I bought a 10' Titan Implement twin spindle this summer. It's very well made with solid welds all the way around the deck but the cross members are stitch welded. From what I understand, that allows for better water drainage and allows moisture to evaporate from underneath them.

The whole unit is very well made and solid. I've mowed pastures (about 40 hours) with it so far. All of my mowing has been grass and weeds but no brush. It leaves a pretty clean cut but does leave some standing grass where the tires have mashed it down.

Overall I'm very satisfied with the cutter and the 10' cut compared to the 6' that I was using is no comparison.

Agree, No matter what you cut, if it is tall and thick your tires will mash some down. The 8 foot is the best cutter I have ever used. A few years ago, when a friend bought his tractor, he asked the dealer about a 6 foot or 7 foot bush hog. The equipment dealer told him a 6 foot is as big as you want to get on a single gearbox cutter. He said 7 ft and above with a single gearbox is only asking for your PTO shaft to break or twist. He advised above 6 foot to go with a dual gearbox. Said the 2 rotating blade assemblies will be more rotating mass that will use their momentum to help each other in the tough stuff. Plus the shorter blades are less likely to bind up in heavy cutting. After using my 8 Foot I have to say he was correct. I cut 40 acres a year ago with a 6 foot for a guy. I did it again this year and the 8 foot walked thru it with less pull on the tractor and used less fuel.

Again the Titan bush hog is well built and worth it.

Bumping this thread back up .... MF283 and the other who have this Titan. Still working well for you after a couple more years?

I have a Titan Implements 1810P twin-spindle 10-foot cutter. It's quiet and cuts well. Unfortunately it's left gearbox went out at 18 hours. I'm hoping it's a rare defect and I'm waiting for the replacement to be sent to the dealer. Then I have to trailer the thing to his shop if I want him to do the work. And I WANT him to do the work.

I'll report back with how the replacement goes. Lots of mowing is waiting for me.

Used the 8 ft. Titan a lot so far in 2019 and it is doing the job well.

Thanks. I can get one locally for $4295 with chains........ What size tractor are you using and does it have FEL or front weights?

I've run the 1810 for over 2 years now and it has performed just fine. Running it with a T4.75 New Holland. No issues at all and very pleased with the cutter. Very good value IMHO.
