Yup, broke it the first day of a week of leave I took to work on the shop. Plan was to finish the shop and maybe start moving stuff in. Instead ended up in the ER.

Thanks, the setting was more due to it being about the only place I could put it because of my property, it was supposed to be 5ft further back from the garage, but I got tired of moving dirt

I hear ya. Always takes more dirt than first thought. :)

Was able to get the stairs in place the other day, still need to cut some spacers and level/anchor everything.
Kinda wishing I had pressure washed and painted them before getting them in now. 20190517_182119.jpeg20190517_182133.jpeg

Those are some nice stairs ! Your shop/barn has taken shape nicely and your workmanship is top notch...... If you want the stairs painted do it now or else it will never get done ! We all have enjoyed your progress and pictures...we are all like kids when it comes to building a shop...

Great stairs. Are they a little narrow with your arms full?

I didn't put railings on mine because of that concern.

Will fork-lift access to the loft be in front of the p-table or in the other corner by the e-panel? I do wonder where the Haas will sit. :D

The more machines in one's shop, the more he/she has to consider what mess from each one might spread to another. Already planned for swarf/dust evacuation (any grinding gonna happen?), smoke evacuation (plan to weld much besides the plasma table?), and HVAC/ventilation systems that won't back-draft each other?

Lots of fun for you to look forward to, and "so far, soooo good!". Great presentation/pics, lots to envy there, and worth waiting for 'next things'. t o g

I havent really used them yet but I think they'll be ok, the tread width is 24", I had a set of wider stairs but gave those to my buddy since these fit my application better.

The railings are bent in slightly from being moved around so that might be what you're seeing also.

No forklift but always on the lookout for one, until then I might build a swinging i-beam crain.
No Haas yet, but I do have a Proto-trak DPM bed mill that I need to retrofit for a new controller, all the machining equipment will hopefully be under the left side of the mezzanine, except maybe the surface grinder.
I plan on closing in the machine area and adding a portable a/c, heat, dehumidifier for climate control.
