TN75 Hydraulic Leak at 3pt and resevoir

I JUST got finished replacing those seals on my TN65. You will need a lot of bucket to catch all the fluid. A lot of patience to get the old seals out. And I highly recommend doing both sides while you have it taken apart.

My damage was a result of mowing over a pasture with a lot of hog damage. A support bolt sheared on the mower's wheel support, thus placing a heavy bouncing load on only one side of the "Implement Carrier" as it is called. The part sheets are not hard to find online and it perturbs the parts gurus when you walk in and know exactly what you want.

It is a fairly easy fix, and not worth sending to the dealer.

You might think we get perturbed when you call or show up with an accurate parts list, but you'd be dead wrong.

From a parts dept manager.

Any time I needed a part I looked it up in NH website, got the SBA #, called my NH dealer, within minutes I found if they have it in stock, need to order it, how long it takes and how much it costs. Parts people were more than glad to help and that could not be more efficient.

Seems to be a common problem. My TN70, I just replaced the bearing/assembly and seals last month. those snap rings were a mother to get out. Someone posted it would only take an hour to 1.5 hours to complete. It took that long just to to get the clips out! about 3.5 hours for the job

Our parts/service department does get upset, because they know I will be doing it myself.

Just sayin'...

Yes, those rings were a booger. I got them by digging out the softer parts of the seal first, so that I could push the rascal inward, then rotate it out.

RickB. Not to change the subject but lets change the subject.
At your shop, how do you go about removing those clips? Is the a special tool ? I used a diamond tip chisel and was able to get behind the clip and bend it out. There has to be an easier way.
Thanks for any insight

it goes into the same hole where your dip stick goes..and on the stick theres lines which is hard to see fluid on but it show up
I wipe the stick off and rub a piece of chalk on it from the end up to just above the full mark. Blow off the excess chalk, stick it back in, pull it out and the level is easy to read.

I use a cape chisel to crimp the rings halfway between the ends, then they come right out. At $75 per hour and a couple bucks for the rings, it doesn't pay to screw around with them. They would come out intact if they were manufactured with beveled ends.
