B7510
You can always tell some one new. I'm in OH. i have priced a B7510 w/ R-4 tires, grill guard, FEL, MMM and Landpride box scraper. My dealer gave me a price of $13,775. I have priced several other compact tractors an this is the best price I could find in our area. Are there any quirks or problems I should consider before buying this unit? It will be mowing, landscaping and general clean up around the property

Burk, the price seems reasonable, but as to the rest of your post, since you did not fill out your profile we have no idea of whether or not the tractor is major overkill for the projects you have, or if it too small to even begin them. Without knowing land size and the scope of the projects, it is virtually impossible to help. You might want to also look at the B7610, typically they are only about $300 more and you pick up some added horsepower in the same size frame. Another tractors to consider that are very similar in size, features, and horsepower, would be the NH TC24DA or the Case/Farmall DX24 as well as JD 4115.

I'm no expert but having just looked at a 7510 and other similar tractors recently myself I will offer my opinion. (I ended up with a 7800 but did get a chance to use a 7510 for a few days) Assuming you are looking at a hydro unit and you are getting the 60" mmm and 302 FEL the price seems pretty good, expecially when you add the box blade to the package. I was quoted 14,700 for the B7510, 302 FEL and 60"mmm so to me your price sounds great. As stated above, looking at the 7610 wouldn't be a bad idea since it is basically the same size but a bit more powerful.

In hindsight after getting some time on my 7800 I thought the 7510 was a very capable tractor and I'm sure I would have been happy with it. I moved up to the 7800 because I figured it would save me some time with the extensive landscaping I need to do and the extra cost wasn't too much of an issue in my case (and my ego was getting hungry so I had to feed it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif). I don't think there is much, if anything, the 7800 can do that the 7510 wouldn't be able to do, albeit a little slower and on a slightly smaller scale. You didn't say exactly what you need the tractor for landscape-wise or how big your property is but I don't see any problems with using it for just about anything involved in general landscaping. I'm also finding out that technique is just as important as the size of the tractor when it comes to getting things done so if you're inexperienced like me the more you use it, the more it will do for you. I don't really know what else to say other than I'm betting you would be happy with the 7510. Of course if you can go bigger (7610 or 7800?) and your needs justify it you'll probably be just that much happier. Just don't go too big to be able to mow your lawn. As Bob mentioned, if you give a little more information you will probably be able to get more specific answers as to how suitable the tractor is for your needs. Hope this helps - or at least gives you a point of view from someone who just went through the same process you are going through.

I tend to agree with Matt's post.

And the reason I mentioned the 7610 is because for the same size machine you get a bit more power. When I was shopping for a smaller tractor I looked at a lot of units and ended up with the most power I could get in a small framed tractor and I don't regret that. I went to buy a Kubota, but ended up with the NH due to a strange series of events at the Kubota dealer (and I have a 10 year relationship with the owner) and I admit to being very happy with my NH (actually it is my favorite tractor now).

However, I don't like stressing equipment, and that is why I favor the larger engine in the same size machine, you have the extra power when you need it, and most of the time you will be running the machine at a lower stress level than you would a similar machine with a smaller engine. Just my thougths.

All that said, I think there is no way we can help you fit the the tractor to the job, not knowing what the size of the job is. I'd say if you have 5 acres or less, the 7510 or 7610 would work fine. At 5 acres or more, DEPENDING ON A LOT OF VARIABLES, it might be wise to move up, or to stay the same size or to consider 2 pieces of equipment.

Thanks, I filled out my profile. A little late. We have 2 1/2 acres, moslty lawn with several planting beds and 4 springs. I considered going to a sub-compact but I like the higher profile to work around the springs. I didn't know the B7610 was so close in price. The main reason I priced the BB was for counter weight for the loader. The weight box seems like a waste of money I thought I should by something for a counter weight that I could use. My daughter has a B2150 w/ a tiller, york rake, blade and other attachments. With the B7500 I thought we could share some of the stuff.

Your price sounds pretty good. I was looking at the earlier version of this machine (7500) back in November when I was shopping. I almost sealed the deal but was concerned with the dump height of the bucket and went with the 7800. I was planning on loading a small dump truck and the 7500 wouldn't have enough height without building a little ramp. Other than that I would have went with the 7500. Also I'm not sure if it comes with the 3 range hydro which comes in very handy. I think the 7510 has a 2 range. And lastly it does not have position control which is important when grading. These are not major issues but I just thought I would bring them to your attention. It is a nice machine with great maneuvrability.

Hey Burk, that's pretty much what I paid for a very similar setup in Central Michigan.

I've got a pretty rough 10 acres to play on, well, 5 is ours and the other we have permission to 'tractor' on. I've got 23 hours on my B7510 right now, and couldn't be happier with it's performance. Plenty of power, extremely manuverable, easy to operate, sips diesel...I've been quite pleased with how easily it gets things done, and how much fun it can be doing said things.

Used it last weekend to move a 14x14' screened in room that was sitting on a treated 2x8 14x20' deck. Lifted a corner (and was very shocked it didn't grunt at all), put some blocking under that, and moved around the structure doing the same, then threw some planks down there, some Sched. 40 PVC and away it went.

Our terrain is pretty rough, and I'm glad that I went up a notch from the BX I was originally considering. Would've been bottoming out, no doubt about it.

So, in closing, I'd say (look at my picture first, then), B7510 all you can B7510.

Thank you for the input. Everyone talks about quality seat time. It seems work has become fun. I called my dealer they can deliver a B7510 or 7610 next week.

Good luck with it; break it in gently. Pretty much the advice my parents gave to my wife.
