To cab or not to cab? Tired of being cold snow plowing

it depends on what people are willing to pay. I had a JD870 i bought new in 1996 for 10,500 cash. i sold in on 2010 with 1,400 hours on the meter. sold it with rear snowblower for 10,750. Had 4 people interested at that price. mind you 2010 dollars wernt worth what 1996 were, but that machine still looked nearly new shape. spent all its nights in covered lean to. never left out in sun and snow. Also in 2010, a similar sized tractor, new was way more than 10,750.

I think some of that is due to new pricing, not saying your machine isnt nice. Where used is benefiting right now is your tractor new an equivalent is probably a 20k machine, potentially more. So people see something for 10k cheaper thats nice and they pay it. Kind of goes back to what I said, the whole market is somewhat artificial right now do to new pricing and loans. eventually the market will correct or level at some point. Already seeing it in cars and trucks.

I had a no cab jd870 for 14 years, and became a snowman for 14 years. After getting a factory cab kioti I have never looked back nor regretted getting it. It takes more limbing up on the trails to protect the glass. Other than that you cant beat moving or blowing snow wearing a t shirt and bunny slippers. I do wish I kept the older tractor though. One can never have too many tractors.

I agree, and a factory cab is worth every penny.

I finally ponied up and bought a used 2017 Mahindra 2555 with 200 hours on the clock. Loving every minute in the cab listening to the radio with the snow flying!!!

Congratulations on the new cab tractor!

Enjoy the snow. We've had only about 1" so far this winter.

You'll equally enjoy the AC in the summer heat.

That happens here sometimes. We often get cheated in snowfalls, but never get shorted on the heat, humidity, dust and bugs that make a cab worthwhile:)

I purchased a cab from Original Tractor Cab 2 years ago and absolutely love it! No more being out in the elements. For less than $1000. Various accessories can be purchased like a hard windshield and wipers. I went with the soft windshield. No problems with visibility so I haven't bothered upgrading the windshield. I did add the mirrors. These are ok, but wish they were longer. I looked into various options for heaters but my own body heat keeps the cab warm. I moved my work lights from the ROPS to the front of the cab roof. In the summer I just remove the doors and dont get over heated. I highly recommend a cab for your tractor!
