One of the guys I work with only lets law enforcement hunt his property... more than once trespassers were confronted by law enforcement officers hunting wild turkey.

We have had several incidents of trespass... mostly dirt bikers, illegal dumping or stealing firewood.

Also have had surveyors and when confronted gave me a code that allows survey parties access in the performance of their duties...

Wondering if surveyors have special access rights in every state?

It is a little harder in Texas - they have to get a court order.

Sec. 1071.3585. COURT ORDER FOR REGISTERED PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR TO CROSS LAND. (a) A registered professional land surveyor engaged in surveying who is denied permission to cross land owned by a person or entity may seek a court order authorizing the surveyor to cross the land.
(b) A registered professional land surveyor may apply for an order under this section from the district court. Venue for the action is in the county in which the land is located.
(c) If the registered professional land surveyor holds office as a county surveyor and is engaged in surveying in the person's official capacity, the county attorney may apply for an order under this section.
(d) The court shall grant the order on proof that:
(1) the person is a registered professional land surveyor acting in the person's official capacity as a county surveyor; or
(2) the person is a registered professional land surveyor and the issuance of a court order authorizing the person to cross the land is in the public's best interest.

Surveyors often cut or trim trees on adjacent property too, I had a crew in and they made a real mess

Seems California is not so stringent...

A licensed Land Surveyor has the right to enter private property to perform a survey. Although a surveyor should give notice 'where practicable', there is no legal requirement that they do this.

Just put this 24" x 18" sign up at the entrance to the trail down to our small lake where we caught the guy fishing the other day. Hope this helps! <img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/files/rural-living/437168-keep-people-off-my-land-image-1794638885-jpg"/> Will be putting two more up at other entrances to the property, likely today. They are nice big signs, and very visible.

Put up another one on the Hydro Right-of-Way, where most of the ATV and foot traffic is coming from. Sorry it is a bit dark, as the sun was setting in the background. I also strong some caution tape between the trees on the property line nearby, so that people would realize that the sign is on my side of the property line. We will see what effect this all has.

I live in the very back of a equestrian neighborhood where we all have at least two acres. My property is a on one end of a "T" cul-de-sac with three other properties. We used to remark that you had to be lost or up to no good to end up down in that end of the neighborhood. I have been home (I work from home from time to time) and been amazed at the amount of turn around traffic. Some of it drives pretty slow. The ones that worry me are the ones that are coming by in the wee hours when I have been up to check an animal or use the facilities. Its odd and I am nice, until its time to not be nice.

The JWs stopped coming around when I answered the door in my underware! Psychology always seems to work better at modifying human behavior then demanding or asking nicely! So signs that make them worry more about themselves then your privacy work best.

Signs like: DANGER, BULL, Guard dogs, quick sand, private gun range, deep holes in driveway, fumigation in progress (All visitors MUST wear mask, LEVEL III or higher!) probably work best.

They must be professional in appearance.

One cold Saturday the JW's came knocking. My wife was gone and I was bored so I invited them in. I took them in the den and sat them. I said let me get the coffe and hot chocolate going. I brought out some cookies and sat down.
