Just look up "brandishing a firearm" + <your favorite state>
The laws are all over the place.

Brandishing can be having someone spot a revolver in a ladies purse when she has a CCP, or if the wind blows your jacket open and you have a CCP. Yet all the time we see pro-gun advocates carrying rifles in public.

I assume these "no firearm discharge zones" mean for hunting and target practice, and do not apply to protecting your life and property?
It's insane to think I would need a permit from the Fish and Game to protect my livestock.
I'm not trying to pick a fight over your comment. I sure don't like where all this gun control and government control in general is going.

No at all... just trying to get a better understanding... it also seems to be a generational thing too...

My Uncle was part of his high school marksmanship team... don't think anything like this could happen today...

Heard of someone calling the police because she saw a truck with a gun rack... no guns... just a rack.

The area around the Capital of Washington State has a special firearm rule... at one point, to my understanding, you were not even able to put down an injured animal... this is county I'm referring too not the city of Olympia.

My brother in California is in an interesting spot... he has the last sliver of county land that is surrounded by firearms prohibited parkland or no firearm discharge city...

The previous owners that had owned the land since the 1860's regularly hunted the land until it sold to my brother... I asked about it and checked with the Sheriff... the Sheriff said they would appreciate a call ahead of time even though it is permitted... the reason for the call is so they don't send out resources for a non event... so an island of 65 acres is what he has... and it is full of game... wild turkey, deer, cougars and the last bear in the county was taken nearby 25 years ago...

Wisconsin has a few pro gun laws on the books after walker signed the castle law so I think your ok with the shotgun.

Many people won't take a sign seriously if it looks like it was meant to be clever/funny.

A friend just had a "home invasion" of sorts. They live on a dirt road in a very rural area. Their house is about 500 ft. from the road. His wife and two children got home late one night and there was someone in the house. They called the police and it turned out to be a drunk sleeping on their couch.

So we've been looking into options for a gate. There are some really nice gate openers that can be attached to a deep-cycle battery and a solar charger so that the whole system doesn't need any trenching/cables. We figure we can do the whole job pretty cheap with a big tube gate from TS.
I also have driveway alarms and cameras to go along with the sign.

Makes me a bit sad, and mad, that protecting one's own property from jerks is so complicated. I wouldn't shoot someone unless they tried to harm me or mine, and I think not too many people want a confrontation. They just want to steal and leave. I just want them to leave and not steal. Better yet, don't come.

Remote control driveway gate:,,,,,, Also lowers home insurance costs.

Don't count on it.

My experience is the sellers will tell you that to make the gate sound more attractive.

Then agents may say whatever it takes to get you to reduce their exposure - then after you buy it they'll tell you there is no discount for that. Or it's a one-time discount.

I'd inquire by email so its in writing, and ask specifically how much will the discount be, be sure to ask for how long this discount will be in place.

I was going to install remote control gate open/close on my two gates until I found out that even the best of them would not reach my closest gate. I have State Farm home insurance and they offered me no discount for gate open/close systems.

Oh wow. I thought it did reduce insurance. Perhaps if you verbally requested it? Not sure.
I just started looking into it. Very early stages of possibly installing one.
