Plowed in some leaves in next year's garden patch. Each time I work this virgin area, the sod breaks down more and more. Can't wait until next year!

That is some rich lookin' soil. Don't you just hate guywires? I have a set of two just like yours and constantly have to be aware when working around them. The ROPS is always trying to snag them.

Aye capt. Those guy wires are a PITA but they exist. Just gotta constantly be aware. Came too close to forgetting for just split second yesterday.
And, actually, no. The soils here in Crawford County are particularly weak. It is going to take years and years of treating it right to improve it. This is forestry country and the soil, once forested, is nothing but acidic sands with little nutrients. But, once amended, it grows vegetables very, very well.

Spent a couple of hours skidding deadfall to the burn pile in preparation for opening another trail. No snow here so can't play with the new snowblower.
I wondered if the B could pull those logs up the hill but it made it up no problem. I hung a hitch receiver on the ballast box before filling it with scrap steel and concrete, works well.

Me too, right after I spread 4 semi loads (24-27 tons each) of gravel and shale. Two loads were 4-5 inch crushed limestone, one load of 2 inch crusher run with fines, and a load of shale from 6 inch on down. I really like the shale as it continues to break up until you are left with what looks a lot like a blacktop paving. Previous shale lasted 4 years but our abundant rain of 55 inches instead of our typical annual allotment of 36-37 (CY 2009) and all the snow and rain so far this year started to soften things up a bit so I redid things and should be good for a few more years.
