Spread dirt by the garden, moved rocks to my campsite, brush hogged behind the chicken coop, graded and mowed trails, leveled future garden area. All in 3 1/2 hours.:tractor:

  • 1 hour cleaning up deadfall in the upper field, and taking down three little birches that were squashed in the last ice storm
  • .5 hour moving some concrete footings for my neighbors

Yesterday I lifted 3 logs with the backhoe for cutting into firewood rounds, makes it easy on the back. Moved the rounds to the firewood shed for splitting. Moved sawdust and bark from the bandsaw mill area to the burn pile. Cleared an area for our new chicken coop. Move some lawn sand to the barn area to level out an area by the drive and field.
It was a good day. :):)

Me mowing the back yard with the BX23.
Wife mowed front yard with the BX1500.

I asked my wife if she had her seat belt on as we were getting ready to start out.
She said no she does not wear it.
I told her to get it on and if I ever see her operating the tractor again without the seat belt on I would report her to the safety police.

Today's seat time (in addtion to constant on/off the machines) included many hours excavating a leak on the pond and then refilling the exposed channel. Currently not leaking.

About an hour picking up branches in the pasture, then, 2.5 hours hogging. First cut of the season and grass was already 2 feet tall.

Spent the morning getting rid of a "hump" that ran parallel with our driveway. It was a pain to mow without scalping and it directed water into the driveway, causing erosion.

Mowed for a few hours, then pushed some burn remnants down into the woods. A nice relaxing day before heading back to Joisey!

The little man also spent some seat time on his JD0000.25, doing laps around the house and picking up debris that the glaciers left behind.

Oh, and got a sunburn. oops!

Spent 2 hours cleaning out a "creek bottom" that became clogged with a fallen tree, and then digging a trench with the FEL for a culvert on a roadway this last Sunday. Today, I checked on the progress to see if it was dry enough to let me finish out the grade to drain and almost got stuck three times. Had to use the FEL to crawfish back out of the mud. Apparently not dry enough! Forcast looks dry for this mother's day weekend, hope to finish the project then. I used the Box Blade to grade the roads to and from the low spot going to the mud pitted road and the shed. Beautiful days, both Sunday and today.
