TODAYS SEAT TIME

Picked my JD 2305 up from the shop for the third time. I guess driving it onto and off the trailer is "seat time"; too wet to do anything else.:(

I got 1 1/2 hrs bushhogging one of my fields. Ran a wild turkey hen off her nest. I left a big buffer of grass around her nest hoping she will be able to hatch her 11 eggs.

Got 6 good & fun hours today. Cleaned up my neighbors corral and learned alot more about useing both my boxblade & disk. Still learning how to do some things more efficiently however.
There was alot of tall grass/weeds and it caused me a headache with the boxblade. Tended to bunch up, drag between rear tires & blade, and once dumped, it created a continual hump that I couldn't get the rippers through afterwards. I guess I shoulda had him mow it down to about 3 inches or so before I began the job.
Turned out OK tho. Just took me about 3 hours more than I'd expected to spend doing it.
Pictures 1 & 2 are before start.
Pictures 3 & 4 are job finished.
So I wonder, is there some special trick that I haven't found out yet? Are there other options than mowing the grass real short before begining to rip w/boxblade? It was fun to do the job, but I'd have liked to gotten done sooner. Thanks for listening.
Greg

1 hour brush hogging. Removed the FEL for the first time. Front end was way light without any weight on it, and going up the slight incline I was working on I had very little steering control. Resintalled the FEL for the first time.

.3 hours pulling up and moving a sapling for the neighbors

.4 hours moving deadfall to burn pile #2. Dragged a big piece of black cherry up from the bottom field, to cut up for firewood.

Am I odd here in that I don't keep specific track of just how much time I spend on any of my machines?

Spent good bit of yesterday first mowing the grass and then beginning the rough cut areas. Finished the rough cut today (that takes a few hours largely because I'm constantly maneuvering around rocks.

Rocks grow plentiful here. Anybody needs a few rocks, I've got them.

Used a few of those rocks today revising a stone wall on the edge of the pond after I fixed a leak. Back filed around it. Will plant more grass when it's settled.

Not sure what else I did. Lose track as I get old.

2*What ya fertilize them with  ?
3*Rained here all day here .
