Five hours digging about 75-80 feet of 18-20 inch deep 13 inch wide trench through dry dirt and plenty tree roots. Mucho caliente. A freebie for a friend/neighbor who is 100% disabled vet. Well, I did get a burger and tea.

Later we had a short break in the heat and got 0.02 inches of rain from a brief shower.

Brush hogged with my Yanmar for an hour and a half. Mowed the lawn on my Deere for an hour.

Plans are to start a drainage ditch today but not sure of the New England Ledge, may be more than I think and the ditch may not go down deep enough.
Will get the tractor in place and let the wife give the BH I try out.
I am impressed with this little CCYanmar Sc2450.

More log splitting. I'll never be able to burn all that wood ! Here's a big one I started the afternoon with.

Spent about 3 hrs grading the lower 1000 feet of my road which I share with two other families that have a right away. It was sprinkling a little. Kept things damp but not wet. I packed it with my truck just after I took the pictures.

Very nice looking road.

Me and my wife Mowed my next door neighbors approximately 2 acres with our BX23 and BX1500.
Noticed the day before that their riding mower quit on them .
My wife asked the Mrs.it they would like us to mow their yard for them.
She said yes and that they had tried the night before but weren't able to find anybody to mow it.
The last time I mowed the place was around 2006 when their grand parents owned it.
I've lived next door to the place since 1966.

I bush hogged for several hours enjoying the view as the native grasses are seeding out.

Good neighbors are one of lifes blessings.

Been working on a section of corduroy road across a seep hole. I need to get my tractor through here to cut some fir later this fall.

In the picture, it appears that the ground is piled up on the downhill side( retaining water).Pictures can sometimes be deceiving, but it looks like it's a downhill slope. A couple 'well placed' ditches/breaks, may drain that area for you.
Edit: If possible......move about 30 to 50 yards uphill, try to direct the water into 1 drainage ditch where it crosses the road. Will make life much easier.
