TODAYS SEAT TIME

Today's seat time involved more time out of the seat than in it. With a few thunderstorms coming through this past week, there were a lot of branches down that needed to be cleaned up. We will get an assist out of the Stihl for this one...

Lots of bucketloads of branches...

<img src="http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=380240"/>

A few that were worthy of being logged out for eventual use in the fire pit...

One large branch that I balanced on the bucket to get to the burn pile...

The burn pile gets just a little bit bigger...

And, at the end of the day, I got the loader off, the rotary cutter hooked up, greased up, and the tractor fueled up so it is ready to go. But that is another project, another day. But more seat time to look forward to with that next one...

Awesome Looks like you could use a grapple. I know I would use the heck out of one if I had one. Now if I only had a money tree to buy all the attachments I want

Today I used the kioty for some light work around back then decided to dig the foundation for the new porch with the international. A few min into it a hard line buried under the seat/tank/ blew leaving me with a full bucket buried in the ground and no hyd for anything. So I spent the last hour using the DK to pull everything free and tow it out. Gotta give it to Kioty they surely didn't over rate the loader and it pulled the 12,500lbs International out with no hesitation once the bucket was chained above the surface. Guess I,ll be replacing lines on the Int this week.

Yeah, a grapple would be nice. Would also like a fork attachment. But I think that my money tree was one of the trees that blew over in the storms, because I can't seem to find it now...

Spent a little more than three hours today with the new grapple cleaning up after a freak wind storm. This is the first time in the 32 years I've been here that we had a wind storm this time of year. Usually in the early spring or sometimes late summer/early fall.

Unfortunately, it blew down several old dead standing pine trees. I'm pretty sure all the woodpecker babies were already out of the nests. This summer I will create some new woodpecker trees. View attachment 380261

LOL I think the ice storm last winter knocked mine over. I have palet forks and make do with them for moving brush.

If i had to do it again I'd buy the forks over a grapple. They are my loader probably more often than the bucket.

Behind that pile of brush is a tractor.

Did a few acres of brush hogging. This this tall weed gave the tractor a real work out. I had to pause several times to clean the screens and even stop for a while as the engine was getting warm.

Seriously debating a bigger tractor after this. This is the first time I can say I may of needed more power.

What gear were you running in? When I bush hog in brush or deep weeds, I have to really gear it down to get a good cut.

I had to hit low gear on turtle (low/low) if that makes sense. I always start out in medium/low if its flat ground to see how things go and adjust from there.
