Nice to see something green. Frozen and a -2 windchill here. Hope to get to Florida in a few weeks.

Sorry to disappoint but not my tractor, this one belongs to the city of Carlsbad. Snapped the photo on my hike at the park. But there are other times I hop on tractors... just not this one.

Put 6 hours on the 1620 today and burnt through 7 gallons of diesel blowing snow. A fellow firefighter got stuck last night in the blizzard heading to the station for a call. Fast forward to 9am this morning, and this is how we found his truck :laughing:.

~10" + 50-60mph winds = buried ford


Had to snowblow about 300 yards worth of road that peaked at ~5' drifts. The 1620 is definitely getting a turbo and a few more ponies after today.

Pretty much buried - nice pics. It looks like you are on a lake except for the power line going thru there. Interesting day yesterday with all the wind. No storm, not even any clouds on the radar, but snowed all day and we got about 6 or 8 inches with huge drifts. Every thing previously dug out filled in. Just getting ready to go out now and start digging out.

GG, we got the wind but only an inch or so of powder which hides the ice that lurks under everything.
I would rather have gotten 6-8" so I could go xc skiing

Oh yeah, it was the most snow buried vehicle I've ever had to help excavate out haha.

No lake nearby, just a road with a 3/4 mile wide field on one side and a treeline on the other. The wind was blowing the perfect direction to drift the road over and slam against the treeline/road.

wow that is a lot of snow. Bet that heated cab felt good.

The heated cab is a godsend! No way we could've ever done it without the cab, was still a 20-30mph crosswind at times.

It's still blowing up here, the wind sounds like a freight train. It's supposed to be with us for another 24 hours.

Now that the temps are once again cold and the ground is frozen, I hauled a bucket load of firewood to the boiler in the basement.
I usually get about a week of firing from that yard of wood which is about how long we go between rainstorms
