Put in some time today working about a half of mile of roadway. Torrential rains of late, causing washouts, ditch erosion, and make potholes worse than ever before. So, the starting point was to gather and roll the edges back towards the center. Work potholes, then draw out and start work to reestablish the crown. Next is to clean out all the ditches, and incorporate the binder back into the roadbed. Add a bit of gravel and dress it down and then roll it it in.

While over at the neighbor’s place a 30k pound excavator was brought in to pull a well drilling rig out of a newly built driveway that now has a wet spring flowing from it. Drilling rig was almost at roll point when the ground just gave way and it sunk to the drive axles on the back.

Moved a few poles up to the driveway to prep and repair the old woodshed. Forgot to take before pics and will take after pics when finished. Still have more to add but the roof is back on the shed and I now have a popeye arm from using those spikes....

I'm not sure but by the looks of this it seems like your building a pole barn out of poles, old telephone poles.

A good rugged building from those old poles ! Now your arm will be in shape to split your wood with a maul. You probably remember that.

Those poles are probably as old as I am. The wifes grandfather had them in the back. The one in the photo was about 30' long. They were from an old firetower from what he said and were about 90' long. He had to cut them down to drive them home however many years ago...He said he had a 14' flatbed truck and built a rack for it so he could load those logs and when they loaded him up and he went to take off, the truck started to do a wheelie :O . Sooo, he had to make several trips instead lol...Love those back in the day stories..

They are being used to raise up our wood shed. It looks like a grownups version of lincoln logs out there now :)

This week seat time for me wasn't much tractor time till today, Thursday and Friday it was Kawaski Mule time for me.
we moved about 60 cow calf pairs from one of the winter lots over to one of the freshening (spring) lots on Thursday and the sorted out the calves Friday to separate and wean them so the brood cows can get ready for this years calves. Most of the time our mixed bunches move pretty well, short them just a bit on feed one day then start calling them and once you get some moving the herd instinct takes over and only a few stragglers have to be herded to the right lots.

Then today a bit in the tractor on the driveway, the weather guessers are calling for rain possibly heavy.
With the driveway already washed and rutted a bit from spring thaws and rains mounted my "fang" on the loader and put a bunch of little ditches diagonally across and down hill on the driveway about a dozen or so of them.

Got to play around with my BH today. Leveled out a spot for a vertical propane tank install. The only shovel work I did was to stab the sandbags for the base material for a few pavers. :D
