Love the wooden toys. I still have a bag of them from when I made stuff like that for craft sales, thirty five years ago. Grandson still plays with them when he comes over.

I had to weld some more on my junk wood splitter. The wedge I had to replace broke loose again. I had 12” of weld in shear strength so I only ran 2 passes because I didn’t think it would take much. I welded it back a little heavier and in the process I noticed the cylinder mount on the other end had a crack in it. I didn’t see any good way to reinforce it so I just welded it more and hoped for the best. Then I worked on the table. I hit 2 more bullets. I’m glad the soft lead doesn’t hurt anything because that makes 3 on the table saw and one for the jointer. IMG_1427.JPGIMG_1438.JPGIMG_1440.JPGIMG_1445.JPGIMG_1441.JPGIMG_1448.JPGIMG_1437.JPG

How old is that thing?

I think I checked the serial number for age at one time but can’t recall offhand. Probably from the 1950-60’s if I had to guess.

It was among a bunch of welding stuff I bought a while back. A real power sucker. It was wired to a hundred amp breaker.

I don’t know how many amps mine pulls. I think it’s wired on a triple stack of 60 amp breakers. The maximum output is close to 500 amps. I’m not sure how big of a rod it would take to utilize that. Maybe an air gouge takes that kind of power.
