I'm not a big fan of a plastic gas can for anything other than setting some place. For fuel on the run.. I prefer metal... Either a real metal can with the flame arrestor bung like DOT and OSHA specify.. or the metal 1g or 1qt cans like coleman white gas came in.. ( paint thinner can.. etc.. )

sandman2234 said:My reasons for not liking the gas can, in the same box with a chainsaw full of fuel, is simple. The chainsaw has a metal shroud around the gas tank, or if it is like my old one, the tank is metal. The typical gas can is plastic and is easily punctured by other things boucing around in the box, including the sawblade on the chainsaw. I just picture a box bouncing around with sharp instruments in it and a plastic gas container getting punctured, or a hole worn in it from the bouncing. A bush hog does a lot of bouncing in a rough field.
Just my two cents,
