Tool boxs

On my L3710, there is a "tool box" big enuf for a coupla pins...any ideas on real tool box's that you guys have put on your rigs ? I've got room back there , just not sure of the configuration.

I up the size on mine recently. I just went to a store and got a relatively cheap 25 dollar plastic toolbox. I bolted a couple pieces of angle iron to support the larger toolbx, painted to match tractor onto a piece a frame on the back, then bolted the tool box from inside the toolbox to the angle iron. works great and I enjoy the added space.

I got a nice metal tool box form a local farm store. I flipped over the brace between the fenders that holds the orange triangle. Turned end for end and upside down the holes lined up perfectly. I used a few of the supplied brackets and drilled a few holes. Added a little gray paint, reinstalled the triangle and it looks way better than factory !!

I used a dry box that I purchased at walmart. Fits good and has a rubber gasket on lid to keep water from entering.

I bought a 24" toolbox and made some mounts to bolt it in place. The mounts had to be welded with multi-angles.

I bought a max size box that would still not interfere with things. As you can see in the photos the box is full.

My JD 790 has a flip up seat which allows the toolbox lid to open all the way flat, making for nice tray space.

1 toolbox (waterproof and lockable)
4 ss mount bolts + lock washers
4 ss carriage bolts + fender washers and lock nuts
3' of tool box liner (no rattles, no wear)
Scrap metal (angle and flatbar @ 1/4" thick)
Powdercoat paint (I need to find some JD green)

PS, I like using bags to keep things organized in the box and make it easy to grab a particular bag for a particular task.

PPS, Don't bother hacking on me for drilling and tapping the ROP for this. I don't have a guard on my table saw either.

I envy the room you guys have with those large boxes behind the seat but if I put one there on my Kubota L4330, I don't think I could see the ground behind the tractor. It requires a little stretching as it is nothing back there. I always like to see what I'm going to hit with the bush hog or what kind of trouble the scarfiers are about to get into. savedbyzero, you might want to duct tape a cardboard mockup back there to check out visibility.

I'd love to have one like that behind the seat of my JD4300 but popping the hoe on and off kinda limits me. Been meaning to make something to go on the FEL assembly but I have chain hangers on the back and chainsaw holsters on the sides so my tools tend to ride by my feet in a pinch.
