Tool for tree planting?

/ Tool for tree planting? #11
Perhaps this is a bit off subject.

Not only does research indicate that smaller plants survive and GROW better, but so does my real world experience. My company must plant something in the range of 30,000 Pines per year. We have been discussing the advantages of planting 1 gallon plants versus 7 gallon and 2" B&B (comparably a 25 gallon). It has been our experience that in about 5 years the one gallon will have out grown all of them. Not only does it out grow them but it seems to stay anchored in place better when dealing with with wind and rain....

This is not the case with all material. But it is more true with container material than B&B from our experiences.

Just two cents....
