Toolcat Years and Major Features

Is there a list of years/models and the major changes that were made? For example which years had the following:

• Dual boom
• Increased horsepower
• Traction control
• Independent suspension
• 4-wheel steering

I'm wondering what the oldest year is with most of the important features.

If I'm wrong somewhere let me know. In addition to bobcat historical specs webpage I used the bobcat online parts catalog to confirm changes. Many changes not listed, this is high level obviously.

What about differences in lift height?

Have any info on the 1st gen boom arm lift height, anyone measure one? I haven't seen any info on any lift height changes over the years. I've seen the roll-back/bucket tilt changes and the lift capacity with no counterweight change from 1300-1500lbs from the early series to the later ones.

According to my research there was never a diff lock available on the D (A0W1) or F (A94Y) series. All Toolcats with independent suspension have Torsen style limited slip differentials, with no locking diff option. Traction control was optional starting with the F series after serial number 14000.

I've expanded the chart a little bit and made a few corrections. PDF attached for download.

Notes:

Series A, B, C machines can be towed at 2 MPH or less by removing the drive motor shuttle spools and installing brake release bolts in each axle. Series D and later cannot be towed.

Power BOB-TACH first availalable starting with Series D s/n A0W111616 and above.

Optional high flow auxillary hydraulics available with turbocharged engines only. All Toolcat from series D onward are turbocharged. There is no field kit to add high flow, it is factory option only.

29" tires are optional starting with D Series. Maximum travel speeds are sligthly higher with 29" tire option.

Wheel bolt pattern for solid axle machines (A, B, C) is 6 on 6" (standard 6 lug ag pattern). All machines with independent suspension (D and later) are 6 on 5.5" (Chevy/Toyota).

Rear diff lock can only be used in 2WS mode. Modification required for diff lock to function in AWS. All solid axle models can have front diff lock enabled with minor modifications.

Axle matching, when enabled, will detect when one axle is turning and the other is not; and will stop the turning axle and transfer power to the other axle.

Traction control became available as an option starting with series F 5600 in 2014. Traction control is standard on the 5610.

Traction control will sense when any wheel is slipping and apply the brake to that wheel, directing power to the opposite wheel.
