tooth bar for 723 loader

Hello, I am looking for a toothbar for my Kubota, the dealer is selling me on a Rankin clamp on ? I am looking to break the ground up easier, clear all my brush, rake the logs, limbs ect. into piles and be able to pick up the piles more easily. The only toothbar I read about on here was the markham? Can anyone with any experience with these help me out? The dealer is quoting me 650.00 for the Rankin clamp on?

Check out the toothbar made by Markham Welding. www.markhamwelding.com I have one on the bucket of my LA723. It is a bolt on but installation is easy.

This toothbar is well made, reasonable (around $250 currently) and shipping is reasonable and fast.

There's a reason for that. Expect to pay about 260$ plus modest shipping from NC to your place.

I am saving my pennies for mine for the same reasons. Add being able to rip out the roots and then stumps. The flat bucket edge is not ideal for stumping.

I installed a Markham toothbar on my Kubota L2800 with LA 463 loader last week. The bar is made very well and fits perfectly on the loader, it installs with 2 bolts through the side of the bucket. I have put it to the test in the last week ( I've been off work) and I am amazed at how well it works. I've been digging up trees and clearing brush and briars and tree limbs to burn. It's well worth the money. It took only 48 hours from the time I ordered it untill it was delivered to my house.

The Markham is an exceptionaly well made, rugged piece of equipment. It is built by folks who care about quality. The kicker is that they don't gouge the customer with over-inflated prices. I have two, and I wouldn't buy any other brand. Believe me, before I got the Markham, I looked all around: Berlon, Fabco, Lackender, Attachments Intn'l, Warren, W.R. Long, EZ Standard, as well as some others that I just can't recall right now. They all appear to be well made units, so you might want to check out these sites and perhaps others before you pull the trigger. Some manufacturers I found only sell through Ag dealers, like Berlon, for example. That arrangement jacks up the price to the end-consumer.
After doing all the homework, Markham came out on top for me. Quality assessment had to wait until I actually had one in hand, and I was exceptionally pleased and amazed. Price was the best around, as was shipping cost. Courtesy, interest in customer satisfaction, and timeliness of fab and delivery--- "priceless." Alan and his staff are a real class act.

Thank you all for the information, I have been very impressed with how informative and helpful everyone on here is. It sounds like the toothbar from Rankin then is priced for way too much, He is telling me 650.00, If the Markham bar is just as good and only 250.00 that is way more reasonable, I think I am going to try it, now I just have to wait all the way until Mon to order it!!!! I have my new toy (or I mean neccessary piece of Work equipment) and I wan't to get all the stuff to go with it...

You will certainly not be disappointed with the Markham, so imho you can order it with confidence.

Markham even includes the hardware and two squares of pre-drilled 3/8 steel plate to mount outside over the 1/2 inch holes you drill in your bucket. These reinforce your bucket sidewall at the drill holes and help to prevent reaming of the holes in your bucket sidewalls.

I was curious about the Rankin bar you have been considering. I'm sure it's a good bar, but I was wondering about the "clamp-on" attachment method. These bars can take a great deal of abuse when digging. While they get their strength from the leading edge of the bucket, they also strengthen the bucket, by rigidizing the sidewalls. I would think that a bolt-on attachment would be more secure than a clamp-on method. Just my $0.02.

that was my thought also, I mentioned this to the dealer about the clamp on and he said he had never had any complaints or any come back? But just for the price alone it sounds like the Markham is the way to go. 650.00 seems pretty steep for the Rankin bar.

If you have a bolt on cutting edge on your bucket, the Markham will not work unless the bolt on cutting edge is removed.
I got a Woods toothbar (about $500 delivered) so that I wouldn't have to remove the bolt on cutting edge.
Toothbars are great. I highly recommend them.

Ordered a Markham toothbar yesterday for my Kubota B7510HST with LA302 FEL ($175 plus $50 UPS ground from NC to CA). The toothbar is 46.5" wide. Will be shipped next week.
