I know the tooth bar questions have been addressed in great detail. I have done a search and have not come up with very many prices. Would anyone care to share what a their tooth bar cost them? I am interested in a 72", but all lengths and brands are welcome, as it may help out others interested as well.

Thanks,
Joe

Joe,

It has been a couple of years, but I think I paid just under $250.00 for my 60” tooth bar and a couple of spare teeth (which I have yet to need). That included about $70 in shipping from Markham welding to Maine. I have been very happy with their product.

Joe, same here...one year ago I paid $295 for a 72" tooth bar form Markham Welding. Same size you are looking for. That also included shipping to California. I have used it extensively and am very happy with the added performance.

In April I paid $274 for a 72" tooth bar from United Steel Works and shipping was $70.

My Markham tooth bar from the dealer for my 53" bucket, with them drilling the 2 holes needed, was $285 in November of 2004.

I just paid $410 for an ATI toothbar with 7 replaceable teeth, delivered. That's for a 60". And the fit is absolutely perfect.

I paid $270 for a 54" WR Long delivered to a dealer. Would have been delivered to my home for the same price but I wanted a reason to go visit him.

here's a real easy way to get a price from Markham...

go to their webpage http://www.markhamwelding.com and go to the contact link, fill out the form, tell them what you want (72" bolt on toothbar) and the zip code you want it shipped and if its a biz/rez address...they'll email you back with a price pretty quickly...I did this yesterday and got a reply back in about an hour.

Incidentally, this will be my 2nd toothbar from Markhams (new tractor, new bucket size)...you just can't go wrong buying from them.

Markhamwelding was my choice also. Great people to deal with, and courteous is an understatement. Their secretary makes you feel like your part of the family.

As I recall quite vividly, talking to the secretary made one wish they'd married a southern girl.:D

I guess I'm one of the few who did not buy from Markham, though from the sounds of the praise I wish I'd phoned them first... ;). I did acquire a Woods 60" toothbar through my dealer for about $240 as I recall.

Markham sometimes has trouble with their suppliers causing long delays. As nice as they are sometimes you can't wait. United Steel Works on Ebay has the 72 inch for around $240 delivered. I can tear up just about anything but I have not been able to faze that toothbar.

I looked at tooth bars from the net but wanted to see one before purchase. Discovered that local JD dealer had 3 leaning against a wall. He let me take one home to see how it would fit the bucket... about .5 inch too narrow... I figured that a few washers would fix that and bought it. Cost was about $330 as I recall, picked up in person and proven to fit my tractor... which was better than I could buy over the net plus shipping.

The JD bar is HEAVY..... weight is 130 lbs... with replaceable 6 inch teeth. I think that is heavier and the teeth are longer than Markham, but can't swear to it. I do know that I feel that it very substantially improves the strength of the bucket lip, bucket capacity and total number and type of jobs that the bucket can tackle.

I bought one of the united steel toothbars off ebay.

My bucket is only 58" and I think I paid around $280 including shipping.

For a 72" toothbar from them it looks like it would be around $350 with shipping.

There are nice toothbars in my opinion and they built it and shipped it within a week of buying it.

Here's a picture of it when I checked to see how it fit before I drilled my bucket and bolted it on.

I got mine from United Steelworks (eBay) too, but I got a "landscape" model (more teeth). I don't remember exactly, but I think I paid a little over $300 for a 54" bar. It was about $20-$30 more for the extra teeth.

These are pretty heavy duty and only require 2 bolts. It takes a little longer for delivery because they are custom made and the only issue I had was they could have let the paint dry a little longer before they boxed it up.

My ~60" Markham toothbar was about $267 delivered to TN. I have been very happy with it. (Now if the rain will take a break, and the sun will stay up, maybe I can go out and use it.)
