I have seen it posted that the plastic strainer under the fuel cap someway has a venting action. Been stated that if it is taken out the tank will not vent properly. Do I have first hand experience? NO!. Mine does have the strainer and it does vent.Yanmar Tractor Parts: STRAINER FUEL T
Mine has no filter...but I can't understand how that would allow ventilation if the cap has no vent hole. ???
Looking real good on the overheating front; I ran her hard for a while today, and the engine only got warm to the touch. All it was was some fluffy organic matter plugging the radiator. Good to know.
According to Aaron with Hoye the strainer has a tiny hole in the side of the ring that vents the tank. Aaron is pretty sharp on these things. I went out and looked at mine. The strainer has a small tab that comes up on top with a small hole in it. For the life of me, I can't see how this vents it. All I know for certain is I have never had an issue of non venting.![]()
